Description My current desktop with some of the new things you can expect in omnimo 2.

Aside from enhancements like perfect snapping, drastically improved configuration and other changes/fixes, we made a bunch more panels! We hope to release at least 20 brand new panels along with omnimo 2, it's likely that some won't be bundled with it, but released as bonus packs. Also the second release will have 10 pre-included languages. Good news for haters of the cut text, we had to drop it in order to deliver perfect snapping, it looks good even now though.

Anyway, I think you'll like Omnimo 2 a LOT more than Omnimo 1. Expect it soon.

(We're nearly done, but every day I keep coming up with new crazy ideas for panels)

LOL..if you keepon getting crazy ideas for panels then omnimo 2 will never be released..I like the idea of bonus packs as a seperate deviation and I recommend you do that so that there will be lesser problems in the comments about panel bugs and users can find the solution easily from the comment section...

Just a quick question, What theme is this that you are using? For Windows 7. I know the Rainmeter skin is Omnimo 2. >>;;;

How do you remove the glass shine on the taskbar? (not the blur, the main reflection)

Does look alot better. Good that you have taken care of those horrible "Title of the panel" positions. (They are readable now)

I agree, I love the Metro UI text alignment. I did it with the date as well on my desktop: [link]

If you changed the alignment of all the panels as shown above, I hope you will include instructions for how to manually align them Metro UI style.

Regardless, can't wait for Omnimo 2, keep up the great work!

Snap, before I forget - you DO mind the URL escaping in the twitter / gmail widgets this time - dont you? Special characters such as "/", ":" and "@" might be common in passwords and whatever HTTP client works behind rainmeter - those characters might confuse the shit out of it.

It was a big problem in Omnimo 1 and I noted you bout that in the comments

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fediaFedia In reply to Xyrus-02 [2010-04-17 18:04:26 +0000 UTC]

it's a rainmeter limitation

Xyrus-02 In reply to fediaFedia [2010-04-17 21:35:26 +0000 UTC]

Why not this way?
On config button click do:

Start configuration window, wait until its closed
Start a headless program (or Wscript?) which goes through the configs again and escapes what is necessary

This could be done with a batch and 2 minutes of VBS. Alltho - I think you have enough work with Omnimo (which I truly appreciate, its awesome). Maybe a note that the user should grab charmap and escape the special chars himself is okay too.

fediaFedia In reply to Xyrus-02 [2010-04-18 07:15:31 +0000 UTC]

You do know that it will run the password through the ini either way, and it will still cause the problem. For just 2 panels, and a small minority of users, I don't think it's necessary to do anything special. Sorry.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Xyrus-02 In reply to fediaFedia [2010-04-18 13:10:58 +0000 UTC]

Thats what I figured too hmm. Okay then maybe include a list of "dangerous" chars and their escaped representation in readme?

# = %23
& = %26
* = %2A
+ = %2B
/ = %2F
: = %3A
= = %3D
@ = %40

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fediaFedia In reply to Xyrus-02 [2010-04-18 16:28:36 +0000 UTC]

hmm, if you put it that way, it might be possible to ad substitutes to these

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Xyrus-02 In reply to fediaFedia [2010-04-18 21:22:39 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. Can you only substitute one expression at a time? If yes, I'd say it might get pretty complex

To bad the cut text had to go but it'll look great anyway... SO was that the only thing that messed with perfect snapping or did you have to change more? Would be nice to know so the people who have released extra panels could update theirs if needed with omnimo 2 that is

So... that code thing, what is that?
