Why? It's the best looking one and the most similar to calendar from Win8

I absolutely love this to bits! Was just wondering about 2 things; when you click on "Show Desktop" on win7, Omnimo disappears too - is it possible to make it always stay on your desktop and not disappear? Also the Media Player Remote doesn't display album artwork and song time from Spotify.

Another little bug I found was the the mini media remote from the topbar doesn't work with Spotify either (not sure about other players).

And something else I'm sure many people would love to see is dA messages? Is that going to be added at all? It'd be awesome to have a panel telling how many new deviations/journals/polls/comments you have.

Thanks for this awesome work!

If you want to prevent stuff from hiding - right click each skin and set it to be "On Desktop". You'll have to disable the background though as it will overlap the panels sometimes.

Spotify has only limited support - it can only control music as far as i know.

Mini media remote isn't optimized to work with the NowPlaying.dll plugin yet.

DA messages is impossible as they don't provide an API

if you set the background "OnRefreshAction=!execute [!RainmeterZPos -1 WP7\Background]" and change the "-1" to a "-2" the background stays under the panels.

fediaFedia In reply to ipwnu115 [2011-08-26 06:01:25 +0000 UTC]

The panels need to be -2 too.

fncombo In reply to fediaFedia [2011-08-25 17:45:54 +0000 UTC]

That's such a shame about DA messages and Spotify

Thanks for the help though, much appreciated!

Oh and quick something else, do you have any plans on adding a text shadow feature? It'd be really awesome if you could also control it independently on each skin -- that's if you don't want to use a background skin to darken the desktop

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fediaFedia In reply to fncombo [2011-08-26 12:16:36 +0000 UTC]

Rainmeter doesn't really allow text shadow beyond a very primitive effect, but I might ad it anyway. Why not change the color of the textitems if you want a light desktop?

fncombo In reply to fediaFedia [2011-08-26 23:23:26 +0000 UTC]

The thing is that I actually have about 30 images as my background on slideshow, most of the are very dark but some are quite light and it can be difficult to read text

Thanks very much for that though

Hi fediaFedia. Thank you very much for Omnimo! It's great!

I'm trying to use some of the panels, but it seems they have some kind of bug.
When you're using the PC normally, and you press "Show Desktop" option, and you see your desktop (with the Omnimo panels), and you try to use the translator or configure one of the panel, the settings window appear overlapped by the main screen of the pannel... this is annoying, and makes the panels unusable... Do you know how to fix that behavior.

Please take a look here: [link] (I've uploaded an image for you to view the bug)

Thanks!

fediaFedia In reply to ludomatico [2011-08-25 17:19:45 +0000 UTC]

Are your panels set to Normal or On Desktop?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ludomatico In reply to fediaFedia [2011-08-25 23:29:46 +0000 UTC]

I set the panels On Desktop (because they dissapear if I click Show Desktop option)...
I know that -if I set Normal- the panels work fine, but this would make the panels unusable, because they dissapear... til I click another window...
The best solution would be, that the configuration (of the panels) appears over the panel (instead of in the back)... I don't know if this is really "a bug" but it's a non expected behavior...

Please let me know if there's a solution.

Thank you very much!

"On Desktop" feature is unpredictable, I do not recommend.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ludomatico In reply to fediaFedia [2011-08-26 14:54:55 +0000 UTC]

Ok, I understand.
But, certainly, it will be good if this "problem" can be resolved, since many people use "On Desktop" feature...

Maybe making a special configuration window for each panel... I don't know...

I've just taken to mixing Omni in with Enigma. The text shortcuts and websites look pretty nice with the side panels from Enigma, especially with dark colored panels. I wish we had more Keanu moods. My friends got a kick out of Keanu being sad and randomly sitting on my desktop.

the same for "windows 8" - so, would very much appreciate your permission and designers will get credit for their goods - looking forward to all prospective permissions - many thank's friend !!"

Hello. Great work with this Ominimo Skin

Im having a few problems. Im using this variant, but I can't get the desktop icons to be hidden

It's not opaque for me. I want to not be able to see my desktop. How does this work?

Thanks

Either hide the desktop icons from your desktop context menu or use a background that's 100% opaque (set it to something like 0,0,0,255)

Open the style gallery and click the "Style" text on top left. Edit the font settings in the inc file and restart rainmeter. Can't guarantee it will work for every config though...

You need to open the shortcuts gallery (purple icon in the main gallery) and then when you opened a shortcut you must set the path for the program you need.

Ok so.... I must say that I'm happy everyday when I switch on my computer to see this crazy seven-no-need-to-skin-but-though skin showing a stylish time&date and shortcutz and tinny stuffs about cpu & network....
BUT : about the windows 8 shortcutz, I havn't read the tons of comments yet that may have report the same bug with your solution inside, BUT, when I simple click on whatever shortcut of the install panel (of those brain new and expected shortcuts), nothing happens! I tried to find it separately in the WP7 configs but noway. Has anybody told you about this possible issue yet FediaFedia ??

Best regards,
Joce.

You need to configure these shortcuts before you can use them. Each of them has a settings icon. The panels don't magically know where your programs are installed...
