Updated: new pic (fullview for best detail viewing)Keep in mind, it can be used with the windows taskbar unlike what Microsoft did. I removed the taskbar from the preview because I'm too lazy to make it match the theme
Yesterday Microsoft unveiled their Windows 8 Tablet UI: [link]
And incidentally, their concept was quite similar to Omnimo [link] (which was based on WP7 anyway
)So without further ado, I decided to make some small modifications to Omnimo 4 and make it look almost exactly as the Windows 8 interface, which is scheduled to be released within a week or two.
So tell us what you think!
PS I'm really looking forward to using that UI when Windows 8 rolls, meanwhile you can use Omnimo for at least a initial effect

So will the tiles all slide over to a new set of panels just like the W8 video?
A great feature would be a "Hide" button, where the panels could be hidden from view to show only the desktop.
Another would be a panel that would show the task tray icons, cause some apps have to be accessed from the tray for those of us who don't use the startbar.
Personally i have added Objectdock using the aerofrost theme to replace the startbar.
There is a small app that will remove the windows start bar. Called "taskbar eliminator" and taskbar magic also works as well.

I'm not removing the taskbar, it looks great with Omnimo. There will be a hide all panels feature, but don't expect impossible stuff like animations, sliding and multiple desktops...

come on man. It was impossible for us to make such a desktop. U made it right? So how is it possible to have 2 or 3 desktops.one having shortcuts. 2nd with facebook tab or 3rd with something else. In your Omnimo 4 there is an application named News Feed in the TEXT ITEMS and by just clicking on the multiple buttons feed changes. so how come we cannot have multiple desktops??? u can do it i m sure. i cant but u can.And i m sure ur omnimo will be like more than microsoft one.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I think Alkhan's Metro YM theme would fit fine on Omnimo 4.

As you can see in the demonstration video of Windows 8, it will replace the start menu.
In the video you can see that every time you click on the start button, wether you're on the start screen or your desktop, the start screen pops up.

It won't replace the startmenu, it will just work as a fullscreen UI. The users can still access normal desktop functionality.

So what a minute if this is supposed to be similar to metro ui on windows 8, what will make people wnat omnimo vs using the actual ui 8 somes with? If im mistaken in my assumtion or from what I gathered I apologize. I cant wait for 4, Ive loved using 3 for the last 3 months.

Well, that's easy. Omnimo 4 comes in about two weeks. Windows comes in about twelve months.

well well i cant wait tell the new win8 hits the floor off and running,as i will chase it down cause fediaFedia did a damn good job with his mock up of the UI and made me feel better about having to shell out more of my dead presidents to get the Microsoft Ome as i did when i updated from vista when i bought my 17inch hp in Feb of 2009 and did even have that Ome very long,damn here we go again!!!! what say u in the rest of the world?.

that's not the point my man,as i was just giving you your props and not intending to offend you in anyway but you know some are very sensitive to their own intelligence and may be to damn smart for their good,as i am new here and to be honest in all my years i have never altered my original ome ui,as i really did go to school to be a electronics repair tech,in learning how to use ohms law to build boards,its one thing to alter a ui but another to understand how all the hardware works under the hood,so no pun intended just that interface was well done and by me very well received. the year 1983 there was nothing but ms dos!!!
