This is my 1st XP>Vista tutorial, I've searched and found all possible things that make XP look like vista. Happy reading!
===================================================
TRANSFORMATION PACKS
===================================================
These packs will automatically transform your XP to Vista, but you'll need MUCH more then that to make your XP look as close as possible to vista...
Vistamizer: [link]
BricoPack Vista Inspirat 2 (SP3 compatible) recommended: [link]
===================================================
Like I said, transformation packs are not enough, here is a list of other required things for a vista feeling:
===================================================
VISUAL STYLES
===================================================
Get the basic vista look with msstyles, you'll need to patch uxtheme first.
===================================================
WINDOWBLINDS SKINS
===================================================
Get the premium Vista Aero experience on XP with WindowBlinds 6! You will get real glass and blur, and many other features with WB!
===================================================

WINDOWS FLIP3D AND ALTERNATIVES
===================================================

===================================================
LIVE TASKBAR PREVIEWS

This is great! Thanks! And one more thing... There's one more application that makes window borders transparent. It's called "TrueTransparency"
[link]
Personally, I think TrueTransparency is the fastest bet.

You mean the icons, not the drive meter - then you need IconTweaker the best icon program (free) [link]

ok. i'm sorry (for myself at least) for having beem a stubborn lad. i tried to deviate a little bit from this great tutorial by installing Vishta Gulpa's (whatever his name is) Drive Indicator (which is clearly NOT included in this here tutorial) and guess what now, I DON'T HAVE MY BLOODY DRIVE ICONS ANYMORE!
the program supposed to change not totally remove the icon. i badly need your help guys. please help me.

Sorry but I haven't included the drive meter because it isn't 100% safe (I myself have experienced complete death of explorer.exe with it)
