"Now you see me, and now you don't."
My entry for the Faime Parade this year. Previous year I tried for the most gorgeous Tulli stallion I had ever seen, but sadly enough my entry wasn't good enough and I didn't win. But this year I got a second chance to win such a beauty and I'm determined to win this time. <:

Since previous year, I was determined to take one home this year. The parade that we ran a year ago had been harder on both me and Lilac than I had thought. The spotted mare wasn't used to the area we had to work in and the forest had been thicker than we'd thought before we went in. The stallion seemed so easy, but after he saw us he put his mind in the game and away he was. It was only later, after hours of searching, that we heard he had been caught by another entrant and the parade had been over.
And even though it all had been fun, we didn't reach our goal that year. Lilac isn't here anymore to take on the challenge with me, go into that forest again and search for another one to take back to the herd. But I didn't need to think that long before I decided on who to take with me. Bro had been my choice all along and since he was a Faime too I thought it maybe could work in our advantage.
There weren't much entrants this year. Previous year it was pretty crowded, a few entrants lined up for every horse available in the wild. But now it was pretty lonely and I hadn't heard someone going after the particular mare I was going on a hunt for. I was nervous, but I knew the way it went and there weren't new things involved. Only less entrants, which gave me the opportunity to go after her and to not let her go until I got my hands on her. This lady was going home with me.
Bro seemed to feel just the same - he was awake and couldn't wait to go, so as soon as I mounted him and the start sign was given, he pulled his weight forward and took off to disappear in between the trees.
After loosing the other out of sight I slowed him down. Running like a freaking bulldozer wouldn't work. Not for us, atleast. Some of the horses I've ridden maybe could race around slowly, Bro, on another hand, couldn't.
It took two hours. We had the luck to see the other pony passing by in the forest. We kept quiet with hopes that the two stayed together and that we could see the other one pass not soon after. Sadly enough that wasn't the case. We almost were to give up hope, Bro loosing his interest, and I thinking that see maybe had been snatched away right before our noses.
Than I heard her. A brisk, high pitched whinny filling the mysterious air that lingered between the trees. I knew it was her, I heard it. I knew it. She had not been wandering. She had not been caught. She was hiding, relaxing, somewhere she felt safe. Bro stepped forward over the rough path that led through the trees, while I kept as quiet as I could and hoped for another sign. And than it came. Another whinny, softer this time, and so much closer than I'd thought. I slowed Bro down to a stop and than dismounted him - something that was really easy to do without sound, since I left my saddle at home. I softly stroke his neck, making him clear he had to stay where he was. He was stubborn, but with a bit of luck, he was too lazy and tired to go and frolic around.
I looked around and scanned the area for the grullo mare I was looking for. Her odd markings, her white face, she had to stand out here, somewhere. But I couldn't find her silhouette anywhere between the trees. Than I saw the huge tree, that stood out between all the others. I frowned, hearing a soft snorting sound. I looked back over my shoulder, but Bro stood away too many steps to have made that sound, hearing it so closely. I silently and carefully climbed up the huge trees roots, looking for that one mare I so dearly hoped for. Again that snorting sound. While I pulled myself up on the last roots before the tree entered the high air, I looked over and I saw a part of her lying body. I smiled to myself by the sight of her. She had taken her rest in the cave like place in between the huge's trees roots. If I was silent and careful, I could right slip up the lasso over he neck and catch her without giving her a chance to play the game they so dearly loved to play...

Ahaha, I know right! I read over her being a Tulli at first, but than I saw the strange markings and noticed she indeed was a Tulli. It was than that I just had to involve a tree into this. The damn thing ate my nerves, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome! She looks so content in the tree, like yeah man got this shit, ain't nobody gonna catch me
Thank you!

Ahhhhh THANK YOU! I'm sooo happy! I didn't actually think I would win her (and expected A LOT more entries for her), but I'm so happy that she now is actually mine. Maybe she'll be the key of making my art block disappear <3
