A curious treant sapling visits the neighbours to say hello. Unfortunately, other visitors may have less noble intentions.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two more and the tree themed week ends. I should start figuring out what my next week will be. I'm leaning towards bugs.

Lovely work. Great wood texture. Also I like how you drew shadows and light reflexes. They add to your work some mystery.
In addition it is must mention that creature's facial emotion is quite ambiguous. Looks like he is surprised and at the same time he is worrying about lonely egg. This drawing is full of love!!

Yeah, I was considering whether to give the little guy the ability to make facial expressions. After deciding against it and going for a static face, I figured he had to have one that could basically
be ambiguous enough to fit several scenarios (though not all, obviously).

Thanks! I was experimenting with some of my brushes. I got a bajillion of them yet only use 3-4 so I'm trying to see if there's any I really like. Turned out I really liked the texture of the one I used for the little guy's bark. But now I actually forgot which one it was.

I've only recently begun poking my nose into digital art and I've been kinda the same way ahaha.
Hopefully you'll remember which brush it was when you want to use it again lol.

Hopefully, but I truly have too many. Perhaps a culling is in order. Like I said, I only use the 4 basic ones 90% of the time anyhow (hard/soft round, hard flat from the CtrlPaint.com brushpack and a chalky one from Kienan Lafferty).

Thanks. It's always a slight crapshoot with the colors as I've been starting from grayscale and colorizing as I go with these, but every now and then you get lucky
