It's a short version of camomila (comomile in English) it's pronounced /kamomi:la/. All gym leaders have a different name in Castilian Spanish (Spanish of Spain) excluding Kanto Region, in Kato we didn't change gym leaders' names. If you want to know more Spanish gym leaders' name, send me a note

We named Elesa like Japanese people, japanese use the japanese version of camomile (Kamitsure) to name this gym leader
