Well, as we all well know, I've been pretty shit for doing artwork the past few years. But I came across this meme earlier in the week and it really got me to thinking about influences and remembering why I wanted to be an artist in the first place. So I decided to do it, which was a lot harder than I thought it would be. There were a lot of things I figured were really obvious influences that when I stopped to think about it, really weren't all that big a deal. And of course, a few things that, when I finally remembered them, I found were quite big things. So yeah, here is My Influence Map.

1. Laurel and Hardy
2. Sir Terry Pratchett
3. Looney Tunes
4. Disney's Robin Hood (and other Disney movies and cartoons as well)
5. Vincent Van Gogh
6. Monty Python
7. Spider-Man (and Humberto Ramos who drew this particular image, double whamy spot )
8. Star Trek
9. The Beatles!!!

12. Dylan Moran
13. Remy "Eisu" Mokhtar (creator of No Pink Ponies webcomic [link] )

Obviously, not all of these are artists in the sense of drawing but these are the 13 things that, when I stopped to really think about it, are what have led to the artist I am today. Especially my two fellow deviants. If not for them, I probably never would have come as far as I have, or ended up drawing in the style I have been. Red, I have to thank so much for all the pointers and time taken to help me along. You have contributed so much to my style physically it's amazing. And Batty, oh, if ever I had someone I could truly call a fan, it is her. She is always there to appreciate my work, but also to offer some of the best criticism I've ever received. She has lifted me up when I'm down and for lack of better words, she has made sure I don't ever give up completely. To both of you, thank you so much for what you have done for me over the years, and I'm sorry I've been in such a long artistic rut. May the future see a return to form.
