I spend my endless days sitting alone upon the sunburnt campus that is my school. I see no one for miles for where I am. and no one talks to me. If I sit close to the front of the school I can see many, many groups of people of all ages sitting and laughing during all times of the day. Though a couple times early on did I try to introduce myself and join them. I soon figured out this type of introduction only ends with two to three of them averting their eyes and the rest 'excusing' themselves to the 'bathroom' only never to return and relocate else where.
Ive taken to finding maybe a cluster of trees or a bird tree and sitting under it and drawing for most of my lunch period until the time lunch is over.(there are no bells and you get punish harshly if you miss a class)
actually this school has only 2 classes per day and recces in both the morning and afternoon as well as lunch. (for maybe 20 to 30 minutes each time.) with 3 hour long classes cycling with a day 1 and day 2 process.
I bet you if you went and sat by the stairs people would join you.

Ha ha I doubt it. though Kelowna is 'tourist' town there are actually very few people who live here full time*. Smalls schools in a small town makes for people who have known each other for years and people who are unlikely to change their views for a new one. To add oil to the fire there are very little available technology and tech related classes and opportunity such as 2d-3d animation, game design, Graphic Arts, etc and no one i've talked to has heard of skills.
(Though the collage here knows of it) and after Ive explained it most teachers are unwilling to support or even engage in that kind of challenge. Trust me I went out and fingered out every lead I could find with no help. Though there is a few computer or art savoy groups around despite there being not alot of classes. Ive become their 'number one annoyance' because of my lack of knowledge and differentiating views from what they've come to expect. Mind you this doesn't make them bad people just a different sort of people.
Welp! At lest I don't mind sitting alone (most of the time) and I have that time to practice on my art and read novels while people avoid me it means no distractions! Well I guess that's the way of the world anyway. there's no helping it if I cant find anyone to spend my lunch time with.***
you should really try and sit near the the stairs with maybe Cassie or someone else and I bet others will join you.
I'm joining a drama group! cant be sad for someone else charity. the whole will get yeah down.

**Grande prairie it a small town has more people's people then a place like kelowna because so many familys with kids come and go because of the oil company there. and a familys need to support those familys with the highest paying jobs.

I come from a small town in Alberta which I lived in quite some time happily and was luckily able to a attend a university sized high school my two freshmen years. In these years I had the the chance to compete in a few 2D-3D animation competitions while attending that school and made many friends there. ([link] , [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] ). However about a month to a -couple weeks ago- My Father (whom can work and live anywhere) decided that he wanted to live near beaches instead of snowbanks. So he bought a house in Kelowna and suddenly im in British Columbia with no friends, no connections, and no idea what im doing. THIS week is the week that I start in my new school. this day right now to be exact. And I've been feeling extremely homesick as well as intimidated from suddenly changing everything I knew. being forced into an unfamiliar situation gave way to extreme stress.
Working in Photoshop and flash and other Adobe programs however is a symbol of common place and a renascence to myself when im so far away from what I knew,( my friends and my old life.) so this flash is kinda like doing something you always do to calm your nerves. we a big change comes about.
Hense 'I kinda super afraid of school' School being a change, animation being a cushion to that change.
