Ah, its fine; that thought had actually occurred to me more than once while drawing Red XD
Actually, to start off, the first version of Red was created a couple of years ago- maybe three actually
I wanted her to resemble me, and at the time, my hair was a light brown with a single red streak in it, so I made her "tan", red and black (because I felt like I needed another color). Sadly for little Red here, I was still in my "NEON RAINBOWZ WAFFLEZZZZZZ XD IM RANDOM AND WEIRD!!!!!!! XD !!" phase, so instead of having a natural brown pelt I gave her a disgusting gold color, and the red I used was acutally a very very reddish neon pink
Then, I begin to gradually tone her colors down, and that's when the new Red came about redlyawesome.deviantart.com/ar…
I look foreward to toning her colors down a bit in the future, though I think her current color pallet is good for the moment ^^; I don't want to go from neon to black within days

But it's interesting to see how much work was put in ya Sona. (Sry for my bad english right now. I'm writing with the deviantart app...it works xD)
I can remember when I started with my first "sona" she was a grey kitty with a cross earring.
I was 14 when I created Zefir....good old times =w=
Now I have the kitty on my frontpage. A red-brown totally male looking and glasses wearing kitty. With a cross earring. (My kitties always look like males xD)
I also choose the same colors like my hair.
I'm not really a fan of unnatural coloring for animals... it's so strange to color like this :/
