Am I the only one who canβt make sense of 57 and 20? I mean, the beach house is on ember island... so how come on the official map both here AND on wiki they arenβt even close to each other? Some kind of continuity error?

Will there be an updated version including the locations from Legend of Korra?
Like Republic City, for example.

So glad that I was finally able to find this. I've seen it other places, but the numbers blured when i tried to zoom in enough to see them. This map is awesome, and it will make my fanfiction story easier to write. I had never realized how many places the world held until I started my story. Anyway, thanks for such a usefull map.

What made you decide to put Kyoshi island where you put it?

Seems to me it should be a little higher, between Whale Tail and the mainland at that point. But that's not a huge shift, and overall I think it's really good.

However, here: [link]
is a different map which shows the island down that far as well. Maybe one of these artists saw the other's work, or maybe they know something that we don't, hehe.

@mperry1995
I disagree... I believe it is more towards:
Fire nation: Japan, due to the fact it is a string of islands with a main island, and very intense naval power
Water tribe: maybe north eastern Europe because of what they wear along with their cold-related customs
Earth Kingdom: DEFINITIVELY CHINA, the Great wall of China and the mainly agrarian/ small village societies out of the main city
Air Nomads: Most likely the religious India and Asia people put together and spread out
Note: Yes, I do believe that only some parts of the eastern hemisphere is displayed in this series, and that they excluded both Americas, western Europe, Africa and Australia

LOL, water tribe is Native American (Inuit/Eskimo specifically, but maybe others as well; I've seen South American references mentioned).
Agreed with Japan and China. Air Nomads ... eh, maybe Tibetans? Something along that general line. We seem on the same page there as well.
But they definitely seem to be using the Ring of Fire and not the European or African parts of the world. Note that all cultures seem to spawn from Asian ancestry, even the Native American branchoff.

Also, historically, the Fire Nation can be compared to South America. Both had at first an indigenous population (Sun Warriors/Amerindians), and their lands were later taken by a "superior" culture (modern Fore Nation/Spannisg and Portuguese conquerors. And here in South America it tends to get pretty hot in summer.

Amazing work you did. o.O
I was just wondering, if there is a map without the places marked, because I want to mark all the places, where they have been in a different way and order. I dont think I would upload it somewhere afterwords, but if I would, you can be sure, that I will mention, that it was your work. So, is there a different version of this map?
Thanks anyway!

Thats Pretty sweet, Except, everyone gets this wrong, Kyoshi island is to the left of your number 8 and the #8 should be Chin Village
Referenced to in the "Avatar Day" Episode.
Still pretty amazing tho. Great Job.

But notice where the team was in the world both times they went to Kyoshi Island. They were right down where this map shows them, not high up North like you're suggesting. Now, maybe Kyoshi Island should be placed a little closer to the mainland, but I'm not sure about that one.

this is how i see it in our world
fire nation: North and south america
water tribe: Africa and Antarctica
Earth Kingdom: Asia and Europe
Air Temple: Australia

MXVN In reply to mperry1995 [2012-10-19 07:03:55 +0000 UTC]
Then why are the Water Tribe villages/people modeled after the Inuits, and Air Temples full of monks? Also, I've seen it mentioned that Fire Nation names were more Japanese, and Earth Kingdom names more Chinese.

Isn't Zuko's Parents' Beach House (#57) supposed to be on Ember Island (#20), as shown in "S3E5: The Beach"?
I'm assuming it's the same Beach House they began staying at later on in "S3E17: The Ember Island Players".
Unless, of course, that's somehow a different Beach House? If so, what's the source? Just curious.
