Description
A little tribute for who is, for me, one of the best cartoonists of all time, Uderzo!!!He was and still is my greatest inspirations... the corporal language and movement that he puts in his characthers are unmatched!
And why not the brave Gauls made a little visit here in my hometown in 50bc?
Is roasted tapir a match for a boar? Poor tupi indian...

Reminds me of a scene in Asterix and the Great Crossing, when they accidentally went to North America and one of the Natives fired an arrow at them. So to find out who shot the arrow, Asterix tells them to follow the OPPOSITE direction of the arrow...

Gastronomically speaking a peccari wouldn't be a better alternative, but a tapir definently makes it look more Brazillian

haha for sure!!! Peccari not be too far from their usual meal!

I don't think so, Tapir is very stringy and taste like chewing on a used sock.

Have you ever ate it? I've never!!!! But I think that even if it was hard as a rock obelix would chew it with no problems

It was a joke dude. Most Tapir species are endangered except for one wich is simply threatened. The later "might" be legally eatable but I've never actually had it. so to reiterate, I merely jest.

Oooh I see! Here in Brasil it is ilegal to eat/kill them... but, you know... somebody goes fishing, a tapir shows up, the guy is hungry... and you know the end of it! hahaha

I have a guess... Roasted wombat! haha that is for sure! Obelix would love it!
Or kangaroos and boomerangs! You know, Australia and Brazil are together in this, they love that old same steryotype of us!

Reminds me of a similar panel in the adventure where Asterix and Obelix go to America.
I wouldn't imagine Brazil is anywhere the two woud be likely to go, even by accident, but they've been to so many places that new ones are getting hard to find. About the only part of the Ancient World they haven't seen is the Far East.

well, you never know! They've been in atlantis and an spaceship full of schwarzeneggers in superman's outfits landed on their village... visiting my city don't seen so impossible!

If you include that story, anythig is possible -- dinosaurs found in a lost valley in Scotland, a cave that leads to New York City in 1959, an invasion from China, or a giant asteroid ending all life on Earth except Obelix.
