Description Exposing the flawed logic behind a scene kid's philosophy
I wanted to do a collage of a bunch of them, but MSpaint is VERY limited.. and I'm a cheap bastard. (haha)

How do they get their hair like that in the first place!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CherubFeet In reply to AnneThorn [2013-09-06 01:43:24 +0000 UTC]

by cutting it a certain way, and putting tons of hairspray in it. That's all I know.

Seriously what is with all the hating? I have to agree with people who say it's just a style; it's like making fun of a girly style just cause you don't like it. Well, I hate to break it to you people but, other people do like the style. I, for one, love the scene style. I'd dress like that and do my hair like that if I could, but that doesn't make me "like everyone else" because I have my own personality and accessory touches.

What I'm basically saying is, don't go bashing on styles because you don't like them and wouldn't dress like them ever in your lifetime. It's as stupid as being homophobic. :/ We're all people, so deal with it.

^ for my earlier comment ^

no offense to any punk, or rock people of course. i myself am a bit of a mix between rock and punk styles, and i don't really have anything against real "scene" people, I just don't like all the attention whore ones. haha. just thought I'd clear that up.

scene is not about being original. scene is a style, just like everything else. being original is called being hipster. get your facts straight, dumb ass.

Well the original definition was someone who wears things that Most people would consider different
But now it's more of a big hair kind of thing

haha, im pretty sure nearly every girl i no(Thats my age!!) wants this hairstyle, i was thinking about getting it too....but then pretty much me and all the girls i no.... realized everyone has this hairstyle and its not original anymore!! its so cute as well but i wish everyone would stop getting this style, they need to make there own personality come alive in there fashion, people gonna judge you anyways...so who gives one!! make your own style!

I dont uderstand why people get their panties in a twist about this stuff. I'm 'Scene' (if thats what you'll label me as) and think this is hilarious. All the posers calling themselves 'scene' and dressing exactly like the real 'scenes' then saying they're original.

People want to be original, so they try the "scene" style, which means changing themselves to look like every other scene kid.

Well I try the scene style and I don't consider myself original not trying i enjoy their style and thats that.

Why would you want to be part of any group? you were given a birth name, and I'm sure it wasn't scene, emo, or goth, or any other outdated stereotype. Go by your given name, not some lame ass one. btw, I love this, it's funny.

It always puzzles me, what about all the people who are the jocks and the preps, why aren't they accused of, "When being original, means being like everyone else."???
No, it's always the Scenes, the Emos, the Goths.
Really, NO ONE is original. When you buy a top off of the Aeropostale rack, the Old Navy rack, even the Kohl's rack, millions of others bought that too. But we are only going to pin it only on ONE social group? That's being a big word called Hypocrisy. Google it, and the 1st definition is:
"The practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform"
In English, you are all high and mighty, claiming to be better than the Scenes, Emos, and Goths, when you aren't. You are just the same.
So why don't we all please stop trying to hate on the Scenes, Emos, and Goths, and WE'LL stop hating on you.

We're not hating bro. We're just pointing out the obvious. But i get where youre coming from. We mostly point out you guys because you tend to get really pissy about the subject and its funny. Cheerleaders at least admit they are cheerleaders. Oh and another thing; How about you stop labeling people by what activities they partake in. I play netball that doesnt make me a "Jock".

I will tell you this,
Us scene kids are no where near like that.
Not a single one of us does claim to be original - unless they are a wannabe - but we are our own person. We talk about what we want, instead of what people expect us to.
The way we dress does not define us, since not a lot of us dress to the absolute extremes. We just LIKE to dress that way. We like the fashion. But the fashion is not who WE are.
The stereotyped scene kid is not how we all are.

I'm not trying to diss on you, but honestly, your prejudice and view on things annoys me, when in fact, you probably don't know a scene kid.
Or you just won't hang out with one because of the way we look and act.

-claps- Amazing. So true. We all are our own indivual. The way we dress and act only HELP express who we are. Some people just happen to be into the same things. There's nothing wrong with that.

It's not unique, but the style itself is indeed original. And I don't know any emo/scene boy or girl who claims to be original or unique or whatever. o.O They just like to dress up like that, to listen to this sort of music, etc. Making this deviation was very stupid of you... I mean, seriously, what's with all the hating just because of the different style? There are many other things that people should protest against instead of wasting their time to spread hate for emos...

Brookelle Bones is one of the largest "scene" kids ever, I knew about her before I knew about Audrey Kitching. But, basically, all "scene" really is is teens trying to bring the Vintage fashion back while using the Japanese culture. I see no problem with it, if you want to dress like someone else then fine - as long as you dress like them because you idol them though. If you dress like a scene kid just for attention, then that's a big no.

I'm scene, but i don't think i'm original in style.
In personality though, i know i'm unique.
and since im not the basic, stereotyped scene I'm not
exactly looking like most of them anyhow.

buttt.
Yes, the scene kids who think they are original for the clothes they ware.
are obviously not thinking right.
Unless they are one of the first few scene kids x)

okay, it's not ORIGINAL. It's unique b/c every scene person does it different. It's not about originality it's about the courage to be who you are and wear what style you want even though it's not "cool" and if you say that it IS them trying to be cool, then you're ignorant.
