a digital collage of pictures from my sketchbook to form a self-portrait with extras. i drew the central image last night at work when it was dismally dull.Related content

It's cool, love the almost sketchy quality of the portrait, and the colours/composition work well together. Wish I could draw people that well

thank you! i love drawing figures.. but improving at figure drawing is just like anything else, it requires practice and observation! there are a lot of good figure study sources out there, i suggest finding a book of photographs of nudes that was designed for artistic reference and practicing from that! even better is practicing from real life figures, if you can get a friend to pose for you.

Yeah true, Ive seen a whole bunch of children do art far better that me now at the age of 20, and alot of people dont seem to care... its sad
But trust me, even as an adult artist, you certainly do stand out from the rest. I just dont think you're getting as much credit/favs/comments/hits as you should. Thats because Deviantart has its flaws, by being such a MASSIVE community, *sigh*

Wonderful! Excellent self portrait. Conveys a lot about you, your interests and your sense of style. Good twist on the traditional "this is what I look like, and here are my things" style of portraiture. Good color choices, good subject choices... wonderful composition. I like the off-center circle, that works very well.
