Kinna is happiness and Kinna is joy. She loves life and lives it with every centimetre of her being, whether it's rubbing her sparkly nose on Papa's roses to make them glitter, or splashing in puddles with big brother Eli.
Nothing seems to really stick to Kinna - negative emotions simply bounce off her, and she's too young to really understand sarcasm and cruelty.
She's not stupid, but nor is she particularly clever - she was not built for politics and plotting so in a way she's lucky she was born into the family she was. She adores her family - including Guard Feddle and Hoofmaiden Finahbair - and idolises them all, which probably doesn't help.
She has grown quieter since her betrothal, partially as a product of her own husband's distance and partially as a product of her radical change of environment. She tries to remain cheerful and is always happy with her friends - but she has become somewhat less resilient these days.
Appearance
Kinna is the image of a perfect princess child - or nearly. Being a squiff means she constantly glitters, but that, if anything, is a boon to her. She loves to smudge the flowers in her father's garden with glitter then wear them in her mane and tail, enhancing her very sparkliness to the nth degree. If she could sparkle more, she would.
Now approaching adolescence, Kinna has become even more gangly than before - but although she's gangly, she's not tall. Her mane and tail are as thick and soft as her father's, but seem to be mirroring her mother's in length, her mane hanging down to her shoulder and no further.
In her fifth year she mirrored her mother by growing a small, straight antler - an almost perfect unicorn horn. How long it will grow in future is yet to be seen, but she is pleased with it as it's her only really genuine connection to her somewhat distant parent.
History
Kinna was not... well, she wasn't wanted. She was needed. Not needed as in a great paternal desire in Father Kin and Mother Myrna, but needed as a shield - they were not a well liked or well respected couple, and their older child Elisedd had not turned out as much of a deflection as they'd hoped. Kin had certainly been hoping for another son, given his general dislike of Princesses (his wife notwithstanding - she was an honorary not-Princess in his mind by then). Instead of a son, however, they got Kinna, a perfect looking little Princess and a bundle of unstoppable sunshiney cheeriness.
At age 5, she was betrothed to Prince Zuko - an alarming turn of events, given her first meeting with the stag. She moved to his glade at once, and grew slowly more isolated. She remained cheerful, trying to engage her new husband by decorating his glade with both flowers and sparkles - but it seemed to be for naught. She sought solace in her friends, and remained as cheerful as she was able - but in the Winter of the same year, tragedy struck. Her beloved Papa passed away of old age. The only small spot of light in this was that Feddle, her father's former personal guard, immediately requested to be transferred to looking after young Kinna. Although now grieving and lonely, Kinna at least had a friend with her for comfort.
