Description
Hooray, I've managed to finish my OHSF entriesTanya Robinson riding BH Living on Jupiter in the Gibsonvale Horse Trials - this is the dressage phase. As Juno's only 8 she hasn't been introduced to a double bridle - the staff are currently in a bit of a debate about whether or not to do that in the future.
I'll try to sort out a story and things for this tomorrow
----
"Look, Marion. I don't think she's ready either. But who the hell cancelled all the two star events this year round? There's shit all she can do otherwise. Do you want her to sit around in a field getting fat?"
Marion's eyes narrowed slightly at the wiry Kiwi in front of her. As irritating as it was that Tanya wanted to enter an 8 year old in a three star event, the problem was that she was actually right about the state of events at the moment.
The weather this year had been crap. Utterly, undeniably crap. And four out of the six events Juno had been set for had been rained off - one of them was next week and was looking unlikely and the sixth was really a bit beneath the big mare's capabilities. It was not looking good for the first foal out of Gannymede.
"Look, we wouldn't let her sit around getting fat. You'd be working her every day, same as normal," she finally said, after a tense and heavy pause. She sighed. "As much as I hate to admit it though, I think you're right. She can't go un-shown any longer."
Tanya's brown eyes brightened when she heard that.
"So I can take her?"
"Yes," Marion replied, glaring at the New Zealander over the top of the entry form she was holding. "BUT. You are going to have to accept a few caveats."
"Like what?"
"I'm sure you can guess," Marion said, rolling her eyes slightly and waving her newest employee at the door.
Tanya smirked and nodded, standing up and turning away from the desk that separated them. "I probably can."
"I'm still surprised she let you take her," Aaron said, opening the door to the horse lorry and sliding down to the ground.
"I'm still surprised you're my boss," Jemima quipped, grinning impishly and ducking a swat from her trainer. Tanya on the other hand, shrugged and smiled.
"I work well with the mare. What can I say?"
Jemima rolled her eyes behind the Kiwi's back, scuttling off before Aaron could swat at her again.
"Just remember what was agreed. You don't push too hard, ok?"
It was Tanya who rolled her eyes this time. "When would I push her too hard? We take the slow routes on the cross country, I don't rush her on the show jumping and dressage is dressage. She walks, she trots, she canters," she said, shrugging.
Jemima said something undistinguishable from the inside of the horse lorry. It was probably for the best that it was undistinguishable.
