I'm still not the best at hair so I did another study turned tutorial. I still really like how I'm doing it right now though Especially if you compare it with my earlier works lolStill be warned, step 6 is pretty difficult and took me along time to get it right, I still think its one of the nicest ways to draw hair though so totally worth the effort >w>

Thanks! I usually google haircuts and then look at them generally to get an idea and then go on from there, usually combining it into my own thing ^^

wait you color on the same layer as lineart?

Not at firs, I first draw the hair lineart, then I create another layer and place it underneath the hair lineart layer. Then I colour it in. After that I merge them together so I can easily add shadows using the multiply/overlay layer ^^

Depends on the effects you are using and how heavily, I don't mind if it gets partly swallowed because I usually follow the lines anyway when adding the effects. Of course after that I would remove it either way so it's no problem for me.Β
If you like it better with the lines you can of course do that yourself ^^
