Description Part 1 - Elements > Introduction

When you are aware of your hidden dream say "hello" to it
and start fulfilling

About A5 sketchbook drawing, ink, watercolours, coloured pencils
Inspiration "Black is the colour of my true love's hair" by Avi Kaplan and Peter Hollens

When you start thinking about the word "Introduction" it has the "in" part like "interior" or "inside" so for me the introduction part should be about meeting something about yourself you weren't aware of

Enough of this! So it happened I started the 100 Themes Challenge

Onwards! Wish me luck
and have a fantastic New Year filled with inspiration and loads of free time to work on it!

Why does this have no comments on it?!

This is gorgeous! I love the soft shading and the way in which you have only used limited colours. It's a very calming piece...

maybe someone ate them?

I'm trying to get used to more decisive lighting - that's just so hard but the effects look sometimes amazing
thank you for your awesome (and first!) comment my dear
now this work doesn't feel alone

Maybe XD

Yeah, I always struggle with lighting. Everything I draw has very bold lighting and looks like it's been floodlit or is in strong sunlight. You're much softer with your lighting and it always works to great effect, especially here
Hehe, you're welcome X) I felt it needed more comments because it's just so gorgeous.

now my angel feels loved - all thanks to you my dear
maybe that's why all your drawings feel so colourful and cheerful?

I just remembered that I always filled everything with colour completely ignoring the light source (the shading was only used to get the 3D effect) and with no shadows whatsoever - now I realized how much I long to those innocent and carefree times
and that was such a short while ago.. why have I realized that light and shadow exist!

Hehe X) I think my drawings are colourful because I have rainbows gushing out of my eyes. I need to dull my palette somewhat.

Well, art is whatever you want it to be, so just try a colourful piece once in a while just for fun. I mean, pieces like this are gorgeous, but there's nothing wrong with experimenting every now and then. If you ever do a really experimental piece then you'll have to link me to it, I love to see it!

"I'm firing my rainbow lazers "
that's a good thing my dear - why would you want to change it? it's unique this way
... ok, maybe sometimes just a little too colourful

haha all my pieces are experimental because I get bored with one technique too soon so I always add something new
for me I need to expand my palette because I usually use the same colour compositions... that's also why I decided to start the 100 Themes Challenge
hmm.. as far as I know you're informed of every new piece I upload - should I inform you anyway?

MY EYEEES!!

Yes, I oversaturate a lot of my stuff XD

I know the feeling, but it's nice to add variety to your work, isn't it? I find it more fun. I got some videos off a friend about colour theory and I need to check them out. I'll post you a link to it here because I think you might find it interesting  I need to finish watching them all.

Eeeer, I'm so mean X( Nah don't worry, you don't have to keep informing me, I just need to start visiting your page more and commenting on more of your work. I only organized my watch list recently so that's probably why I haven't been informed about a lot of your work. But yes, I'll definitely start visiting your page more I must!

my dear, to make one thing clear - do you like your finished works? you think they're the way you wanted them to be? then everything is fine and oversaturated is part of your style
if not then looking through tutorials and step-by-steps is all right but remember - clinging too closely to one technique makes you limited and doesn't let you explore the wholeness of your possibilities
and I know you're meant to awesome things
... and now I sound like an egg-head, so sorry about that
I just want you to be like yourself - not like 200k+ people who watched that tutorial; personally I find it interesting and I'll listen to it in the meantime for sure and thank you for the link
of course that doesn't mean I'll listen to everything they say..

feel free for a visit anytime! frankly speaking I have a stack full of your works which need to be looked through since... January 2014 hmm.. that means I didn't get through my deviantions inbox for a year?... no wonder I have so many messages then
mystery solved
and I feel so ashamed
run!

You make a very good point Don't worry, I definitely won't change my style too much, but it's worth having a look at a tutorial or two just to see what other people do. Personally I like my work being very colourful, although there has been the one piece with colours that... just, don't look right...

Nah don't worry, you're not an egghead, you're just an awesome person with great advice XD As much as I love a lot of the brilliant digital artists on here, (and thus this makes me feel really bad for saying this), but their work can tend to look a little.. samey. It's rare to find digital artists who go out of their way to break the rules, but I can name a few. Honestly, I prefer traditional art (like yours!) I personally think your work is very majestic and ethereal.

Anyway, here's the tutorial, although I still think the way you use colours is fine and I really like it.

Ah, don't sweat it XD A lot of the work I've posted is just half-hearted scribbles and memes. I will let you know if I've drawn an auroraphrax though

... I have just realized what those flowers are doing in my last comment! THEY'RE NOT DANCING! THAT IS NOT OKAY!! X( I genuinely thought they were dancing!

I think you'll find the right balance in your own style using all the knowledge from all those tutorials
even in colours
ha! I knew it! I can definitely fool people that I'm a good person! now the world will be mine!
ekhm... let's pretend I didn't say that
I alredy watched a bit of those videos - although I'm not sure how I can use that knowledge in traditional artworks I find them quite interesting
you already did tell me you drew an auroraphrax! you kept your word
auroraphraxes are so beautiful
.... now I understand what you had in mind with those flowers...nope they are not dancing
a little mistake and so much to interpret

Hopefully someday, I just gotta keep experimenting  Already got some experimentation ideas in mind.
Shhhh.... nobody will ever know
Yeah, I think it's geared more towards digital artists. Traditional artists already have colour limitations in their work, but digital artists have basically no limits. I might go back to doing more traditional art at some point.
I'm so glad you like them!  I shall forever draw them!

Why is Deviantart so dirty? WAAAAI?! X( XD

experiments are always awesome - that's why I have such an inconstant mood in my gallery
without experiments there would be no vacuum cleaner or Eiffel Tower - so they have to be good
why you say that only digital artists have no limits I never felt limited in traditional art... apart from that I sometimes miss the ctrl+z function
go for it! it's said that good traditional artists make good digital artists as well.. sometimes
yay auroraphraxes
you are dirty choosing such an emoticon sweetie

Same here XD I have a mix of character stuff, fanart and creature designs all done in different mediums and techniques. It's fun to experiment!
True as well. What would the world be like without the Eiffel tower? O_O
Well, I mean with digital art, you can access some really crazy colours that you might not get access to in traditional art, but that's just the way I see it, anyway XD Oh yes, I wish there was an undo function for traditional works. We have rubbers for now, but they sometimes do more damage than good, (like tearing the page XP)
Well you know what they say, it always starts with pen and paper
YAAAAAYY!!!

It wasn't me, honest! It was the flower! It's evil!

hmm.. without the Eiffel Tower there would be less to learn about building history?
maybe you're right about the colours but I never needed them for usage ah! that's why you love oversaturated colours! mystery solved
try to use a rubber in watercolour
yea... always blaming on the innocent
