Description
The pulse coursing through my veins tells me I’m alive
I can hear its rhythm throbbing in my ears
The tiredness that I feel is a pain that reaches the depths of me
I want to close my eyes and shut out the world
I want to chase away the ache that I feel in my heart
I feel like I am no longer in control
That I am clutching onto to a thread
But being swept into a vortex of darkness
That spirals forever downwards drawing me with it
I am weary and sleep eludes me
The noise of the chatter of my mind
And the screaming that is in my ears now
Are driving me to the edge of my sanity
And I can see in my minds eye the darkness
The emptiness that lies beyond my sanity
I long to go there and leave the world behind
The world that I have created to live in
Caused by the choices I have made
The pain that I feel is of my own creation
I have no one to blame but myself
But my body aches that it burns
And my soul feels alone and cold, even empty
Like the empty halls of a forgotten place
