May I ask for the title of three books here? They look interesting, though I can't really read the titles. ^^''

You can click the image to enlarge it, if that's still not large enough, you can download it
I don't know to which three books you're referring.Β

You're right, had to download it and zooming into the image was much clearer. ^^''

I was referring to Tokyo Ghoul (Zakki), Black Paradox by Junji Ito, and The Enigma of Amigara Fault. They look interesting. eve

you seem to be very diverse in reading material.i only read some edgar rice burrough tarzan and john carter of mars and some robert e howard books, mostly conan, but once i started reading comic books in my early teens over 40 years ago, that became my norm...anything marvel related....lots of dc comics and several indies thrown in. also as a kid i read all the french editions of tintin, spirou, lucky luke,asterix,schtroumfs/smurfs etc.

Sorry, but comics don't count as "reading"
While I'm sure there are some great plots and character depth, it is not the kind of reading that's good for your brain. That would be like reading only the dialogue in a book and leaving out all the elaborate descriptions...
However, I do enjoy the occasional manga.

I hate to disagree with you, but my vocabulary knows no bound thanks to my voracious reading habit of comic books while growing up. My being a french Canadian, my 2nd language was English, and I had the highest scores and report cards from 6th grade through 12th all due to reading comic books. But to each their own, I guess, when it comes to what is considered decent reading material.

Oh I do believe that! English is my second language too and I learned a decent amount of it through video games

That's a lot of books to get through in a year, just reading all of the Dark Tower series is impressive. I read those years ago and loved them, I was bitterly disappointed in the film and thought it was a such a wasted opportunity - like if The Fellowship of the Ring had been more like Eragon, and killed the LotR and Hobbit trilogies.

It looks like you read a lot of fantasy - have you read any Robin Hobb, Tad Williams or Joe Abercrombie? If not I recommend them.

Happy reading!

To be honest, I was already a bit disappointed with the Dark Tower series as novels The first three are really good, but things spiral downward sometime during Wizard and Glass, King can't write romance and shouldn't. But during the last three books it felt like King had lost focus, everything got incredibly long-winded, the self-insert was so cringe-worthy, Mordred was one huge disappointment even though he was built up as the ultimate Nemesis... yeah The universe itself is great, a post-apocalyptic western with fantasy elements, nods to the Arthurian Saga and different planes and worlds. But the execution seemed just a bit too much, even for a great writer like King.
The movie was a slap in the face for everyone lol. I only watched it because Matthew McConaughey looks dead handsome in black

However, I actually don't read much Fantasy. I don't like reading Fantasy, strangely, because I absolutely love that genre in video games Skyrim and The Witcher 3 are games I keep returning to because I love their worlds. Once you have experienced Fantasy in such a three-dimensional way, reading about it, at least for me, isn't enough anymore.
I only got the Lord of the Rings on my to-read list because I loved the movies as a kid (still do) and wanted to pay tribute to the creator by at least reading the source material. I already read the Children of Hurin and The Hobbit, so I know how difficult Tolkies is to read, that's why I haven't started yet

Other than that, my preferred genre is everything non-fiction (especially history, psychology and science), historical fiction, yaoi/gay () and the occasional classic
