Description I love this one, and I loved making it.
though if anyone really good with lighting could comment or send a note it would be really appreciated.

Also looking for critique since I'm cheap and can't request it xD

**Changed the further planet

***Again fixed some minor irritations (never satisfied >.>)

I nearly died when I saw this. I am brand new to this website. I have uploaded one piece... in comparison it is awful!

What are you talking about? Yours is awesome! I did mine in photoshop, yours was in Muro lol. Muro takes a lot more skill to get good images. Besides, it just takes practice. I watched many a YouTube videos to learn what I needed to do. Keep going

I love this, though I'm going to pass on a tidbit that from *arisechicken117 that helped me out. Try to Avoid using lens flare as your main light source. I will probably upload some sun stock if you want to use it.

Feramoo In reply to OctaneSaint [2011-01-03 10:09:38 +0000 UTC]

that would be pretty cool
but I'm kind of an anti-stock person
I love the feeling of doing things myself
the only stocks I've been willing to use have been tedious things like asteroids from Hameed
However if you could provide a link to a good tutorial I'd be super willing to practice till I got it down.
I don't like using lens flares either :/

It's cool I hate using other peoples stocks. I admire you for painting space scenes it's something I cannot do =\
I'll look for a tut for paint sun flares.

i wouldn't say straight up painting, but using all of photoshop to my advantage, I've never been able to freehand anything :/
i guess a tablet would help >.<

well in that case you if you have a camera you can take your own stock pictures of the sun. and just set them to Black and white and change the levels till it's dark everywhere but around the sun and then just make a square selection and cut-paste and set it to screen and mask off the edges. Thats what I do.

My critique is that while your main planet is fine (could've done with a bit heavier of a shadow farther you get away from the light) that unless those two smaller planets are right in front of the sun you shouldn't have them completely shadowed like that. I'd suggest a sliver of planet surface able to be seen on both of them.

Feramoo In reply to Hessmix [2011-01-03 00:49:40 +0000 UTC]

It's updated now, the medium planet is actually much much further away than the smallest one, in comparison its right beside the big one, so I'm keeping it very dark.
