WARNING: BIG FILE AHEAD. CLICK DOWNLOAD TO FULL VIEW So from time to time I've stumbled upon "Skyward Sword" fanart where the Link depicted is Twilight Princess Link, instead of Skyward Sword Link. :l;;; ... and it just kind of looks really strange in most instances.
I know they look really similar right off the bat, but TP and SS Link have their differences; subtle, but they ARE there, and they do make a difference in your pictures. There's more to SS Link than JUST the poofy pants and right-handedness, and that's why I made this comparative chart. There's probably a few other things I didn't write, but these are the most noticeable differences between the two Links.
The tunic colors are an approximate and our opinions may differ Here's a color reference for the tunic colors, if you need it so you can see the differences.

I hope it can eventually help others as a reference when doing their fanart, or even cosplay, 'cause yeah, despite some design similarities, TP and SS Link are actually really different. Even their shields have slight differences, can you spot them? :3

Y seh, concuerdo contigo, asi como la goron sword que tenia que cargarla en dos manos xD asi esta tan bien o sea cae el pobre, o con un swing se tropieza xD haha esq tu no sabes la espada es toda livianita, la sword girl hace todo el trabajo link nams esta ahi de adorno xD
haha si en esta screenshot no se aprecia muy bien pro en una que tenga ele scudo mas de frente se nota mas el disenio mas simplon xD

lol yeah. Well before I read it I saw color differences, and the fact that they are opposite. It's like a mirror image. That's pretty big haha.

actually the Skyward Sword gameplay allows you to pick witch hand Link uses to fight with because it ill be on the Nintendo Wii.hey did tha to make it easier on people who ar right or left handed. So the SS Link just might be ambidextris~!

Can you cite a source on that info? Because Aonuma already said there would be no left handed option for the SS game on a IGN.com roundtable interview. Just saying

6.The girl in the art is not the Master Sword and it appears the Master Sword will not be in the game.
Mr. A, already said that the this sword eventually becomes the Master Sword, and that this girl IS the Skyward Sword lol! I don't know where they got that rumor from.

Actually, most of those rumors have already been debunked by Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma in several interviews.

Every other Link is left handed, only SS Link is right handed (Wii!TP doesn't count since the original game and official art depict him as lefty) I liked Lefty Link, but I'd rather draw SS Link accurately xD

I know they really only made him right handed because it's easier for right-handed people to play on the Wii, but it still makes me sad. I LOVED that he was a lefty.
But yeah, accuracy is probably a good thing. >>; (I'll be a rebel and draw him left-handed mwahahaha >D)

I was so hoping for a TP sequel or at least similar graphics and storyline. I'm still on the fence about SS but we'll have to see.

They were going to go with TP graphics initially, but Miyamto upended the table pretty early on lol. I also wanted a more TP graphics styled game, but I loving the new look too, it's so different <3

Definitely! Midna was one of the best characters they have ever created for that game and I wish they would bring her back because the ending of TP was so unsatisfactory.

I did notice that a lot of people drew SS Link as TP Link, but I don't blame them since there is barely any art of him. XD
BUT, this guide is mighty helpless since I, and a lot of other Zelda fans, will notice that they have pretty big differences. I never noticed the differences on the face shape! SS Link has a 'smaller, rounder' face than TP Link and TP Link looks a lot older.

But the screenshots and official art for SS have been circling since E3! and I've seen fanart post-e# still depicting TP Link! xD there's enough references hahaha. I just dislike it when they miss the BLATANT differences and give SS Link an arm bracer for example, or tight pants. He doesn't have a bracer just the blue armguards :l.
And helpless or helpful xD?
And it;s funny cuz according to the developers, SS Link is the oldest Link yet xDD yet he looks younger, its kind of cute <3

I haven't been keeping up with SS lately (don't want to get excited until they reveal more information and whatnot XD), so I didn't know that a lot of art was out. I guess people are too busy/lazy to really look at the art.
Most people thought that SS Link was TP Link due to the first teaser image that came out of him, so I can't blame them for thinking they're the same thing at first. However, you definitely proved them wrong here.

Yup lol, a lot of artwork and screenshots have been released, as well as some story bits and pieces here and there O:
and yeah the first teaser looked like TP/OOT mix, but Im mostly referring to artwork POST E3 where people most of the time ACKNOWLEDGE they saw it and the artwork released afterwards, so it confuses why they STILL draw TP Link instead of SS Link xD But yeah it's a very (annoying) common misconception, hence my doing this chart xDDD

Gotcha! The official art sort of has a TP face though, minus eyes and ears, if they haven't looked at the gameplay renders. However, the art clearly shows that he is missing a lot of elements from TP Link (arm bands, details.etc) and their clothes are very different. That is hard to miss!
Thats just weird! O.O He looks a lot younger than TP and OoT Link.

i wish they kept the style of TP.
i think the best game ever for zelda would be TP and WW combined.
as WW has amazing movie clips and puzzles
and TP has a very good old style with both baddies and ganon.
what would also be good is the ending part of WW when ganon is talking about the triforce then is rushes up to link and starts hitting him.
