I understand that he uses a gun in the silver age comics and this is probably based on them but it feels like an unnecessary addition, I think that it ruins Batmanβs charter to use a gun and I think it was a good idea to have a no kill and no gun rule as it made him stand out from heroes like iron man or spider man.

In the early Batman stories, he used a gun.
