I wrote a rudimentary Monte Carlo path tracer in September 2013, but it was painfully slow. I'd really like to continue work on it in the future.Related content

With a scene as simple as this, it's much more about the software than anything else!
I'm certain that Blender would have rendered a similar image on my computer in fewer than 5 seconds.
