A personal interior project.. wanted to study lightning so i built a scene and experimented with different methods.. Was supposed to render it with Renderman in the end but ended up with Maya software. I lighted the scene with ordinary light (No GI or Final gather) and with Mayas ipr as help.. when i then switched to make a final render in RM the values of the lights was different.. but i'm pretty happy with the results despite maya software.. the speed of the render was very fast to.. around 1.5 minute!

Well, it's been a while since I saw this image in the DDs and favorited it, but I was shocked again when I was browsing through my favorites again and saw this deviation.
There's such thing as incredible, detailed artwork that doesn't mean anything. But this deviation has touched my heart not once, but twice. Such inspiration--I can't begin to say how much I love this one.
(Hope you don't die from all the cheesiness. xD)

oh wow, I can't get over all the details in this, especially with all of the textures in the wood and fabric. I also really love how we're looking into this scenery, such an interesting view.

What a fantastic scene to work with lighting in. I am currently doing a specialization project on lighting (main: mood setting) at my University. My scene is however not this elaborate with details. With this scene I think the lighting is really good, although personally I would have used less fill light and given the scene some more contrasts. But that is simply taste. ^^ I really like it.

just a few suggestions to make this piece better would be to fix the repeating wood textures to be less noticeable,depth of field in fore ground, turn down bump on wall texture or use different bump map, add a texture on the rather rather than having it be comprised of nurbs, i think this would improve this interesting piece greatly, btw where did you get the concept? photo or did you come up with it? i like it alot.

Oh my... This is gorgeous. I love the morbid and abandoned feel that this gives. Its almost like the room itself feels the pain of the absence of the people. Amazing
