As much as I agree with hating Eclipse, keeping it optional is never going to happen. It's not sustainable for a company to upkeep two different browsers. Either they sink more money and resources into upkeeping both formats (which would defeat the purpose of the rebrand) or they would keep the old format but never upkeep it, which would eventually lead to it being slow and full of bugs to the point where it wouldn't be useable anymore anyway.
I mostly just wish that Eclipse was "finished" in these years they worked on it, and that the format wasn't so stupid.

They've received so much feedback on this new format that they're shoving down our throats over the months, and have continually ignored the protests and obvious problems with the new layout. Rather than forcing this new format on us (that the general DA population dislikes sorely), they could have focused their time on up keeping and improving their current layout. Eclipse is not a separate browser to my knowledge, its a separate website layout. Servers and browsers are what costs the most to upkeep, DA Eclipse is merely updated coding and layouts. DA itself is not a browser either, it is a website. This would not cause the company any monetary loss by allowing both layouts to stand, it is rather an option for members in terms of which layout is the most easy to navigate per person. DA WILL lose money and resources, however, if they push this new layout that lacks easy accessibility, features, etc that drew people to DA in the first place. CORE sales will go down, artists will leave to separate platforms, etc. So ultimately, while I do see your side, I respectfully disagree with it.
If any of what I have said is incorrect, I am absolutely open to the fact that I may be. However, this is my informed opinion at this time.
