Description Yeah, Masque is not all about girls and chains.

Behind the screaming, you'll find some of the characters get down right chatty.

Thanks. I lightened it up a bit since then.

I used 'scattered leaves' brush to 'dirty' up the surfaces.

Hey Ferres! how long does is take you for a page?

Ferres In reply to Nikkinox [2007-05-02 18:32:48 +0000 UTC]

A lot longer than I'd like. I average 6 pages a month and that includes weekends.
8 pages if the backdrop is not so heavy with no battle sequence and minimal tortures.

Every panel is blocked off and worked on as an individual piece. In a way, one page is equivalent to several illustrations. I wanted to try a much simpler technique but I can't break my old habits.

I have been approached for a color job on a comic. 22 pages ...They figure a page a week. I think I can do it, but I'm not seasoned to be fast yet.

With backgrounds, try to make it reusable. I created a few large wall and floor textures that I use often and tweak depending on scene. Sky as well can be a separate peice that can be reused. Just make some variations.

Keep your photoshop layers named and structured(similar object in one layer). I separate skin layers for men and women since men usually get a darker shade.

Great job as always...

It's the first time in a while that i've seen a picture from you that didn't consist of naked women...

Not that naked women are a bad thing

It is a nice change of pace. Admittedly, these none nude pages tend to be few and far between.

Awesome. I hope I'm not asking the magician to reveal his secrets, but I was wondering- do you draw these panels and scan them in the digitally paint them, or is this all digital.. and do you use Photoshop?

Exactly what you said. Draw, scan and color.

But the initial drawing is very raw. I finish up the sketch digitally. Like to be able to zoom in.

Yup, ye old version 7.
