The two horses were let loose into the arena, staff from both stables watching anxiously. Some of the Stud and Genetics class from Aen Invaerne Academy were watching too, taking notes as part of their assessments.
The trip to Veselia had been long for Ranaa, and raging with the hormones of a young filly in heat, even the normally calm-tempered mare's temper was fraying a little. Ranitomeya came on a little strong, trotting up to the mare's behind boldly, nipping her tail with enthusiasm. Ranaa wheeled around with a high-pitched whinny and promptly bit the colt's neck hard, causing him to squeal and cower, trotting off to sulk in the corner.
The students laughed, but AIs Breeding Program manager and professor, Logan, frowned as he watched the two horses. He could tell this was going to be a long courtship- and a slightly dangerous one at that. The inexperienced stallion was out of his depth, but this breeding was very important.
