This scene, and your depiction of it, really crystallised [no pun intended] my new portrayal of the Sentry in Marvel RP.
The man hasn't had a moment of clarity in years of trying to be the best he can, while that darkness in his soul undoes all his efforts.
Emma gave him the kind of peace of mind he'd only dreamed of. A simple tap on the forehead by the telepathic Phoenix Avatar and Robert Reynolds knew joy once more.
And a moment later S.H.I.E.L.D. obliterated him from orbit...

We've been running the Phoenix Five storyline in the Marvel RP sim on Secondlife, and there was an event where Phoenix Frost fought against Sentry.
She released Ryan from Dark Sentry before SHIELD blew them both to bits. She reassembled herself later (Damn Emma never STAYS dead), but he wasn't so lucky.

It just seems any time anything devastating happens to her, everything is suddenly all better later on.

Most, but not all. She's just a terrible person, but because TITS, she gets to keep on being a character.

I think it's more of the fact that the X-men team always needs a token telepath. But you're right, her bewbs play a part.
