I'm finally here, lying down on the beach, with Jake "I love watching the stars. They're so bright, so beautiful." I say.

"Yeah." Jake agrees. "What do they remind you of?" He asks.

"They remind me of..." My voice trails off and my I wonder into my thoughts. "They remind me of friends."

Jake grins. "Why? How?"

My smirk meets his grin. "Because. I read this quote, Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but they're always there" I let out a content sigh. "Ever since then, that quote just, I don't know, stuck." I sigh once more, then turn my head to look at Jake. "What do they remind you of?"

Jake smirks. "I'll tell you if you can beat me in a race to that log over there." He sits up, and points to a charred log about forty feet away.

"You're on." Immediately, I shoot up and began to run. I get sidetracked though; I feel drops of water gently showering me from behind. "Hey!" I yell.

"You never said I couldn't splash!" Jake remarks. Even though I can't see him, I know he's smirking.

Once I'm a few feet away from the log, I stop running, cup my hands to hold water, and splash Jake. My eyes close from laughing. When they open, I see Jake in the air, and the next thing I know, I'm back down on the sand. "Whatever! I still win!" I smirk.

"I know, I know." Jake admits, getting off of me and helping me up, brushing sand off of his clothes.

I gently push him away. "So? Tell me what the stars remind you of!"

"The stars... Remind me of you." Jake says with sincereness.

I smile and blush a little bit. "Really? Why?"

"Because. Like you said, they're bright and beautiful. Each one is different, special in their own way." My heart warms, and I lean in to kiss Jake. This couldn't be anymore perfect.
