was nice enough to actually color this! I love that guy.
and Miss again did her own professional-level quality color work for my Ifrit. Isn't she just awesome? [link]

Indeed it does, and I've been remiss in neglecting to sing the praises of your generous colorists. Verin's work on the Fox & Ifrit is top-notch, while Reaper's own stab at the former draws an interesting reverse color-parallel with KP's StD combat suit...and the job he did with "Fae" further cements that machine as the single coolest Mego-related concept I've ever stumbled across. And given the subject, I must bow to anyone who can wring a drop of said coolness from THAT lilac-scented stone.
...did that last sentence make any damn sense whatsoever?

Oh definitely agree. I love their work. I was really happy to see both of their takes.
And that sentence made plenty of sense. Mego isn't the easiest character to work with most certainly.
Looking forward to more comments in the future. ^_^

Indeed I did, and your notes simultaneously answered some of those whilst raising several others:
-if those are shoulder-thrusters, what's that dark apparatus running down the Ifrit's back from its helm? Backup boosters?
-Ah, another connection to Agni's Over-Clock suit (the Shoulder-Blades of Slashy Goodness(C)). Bravo.
-Ooh, stealth counter-countermeasures. Two flaming thumbs up there.
-I take it the tail-hooks can conduct Rush energy? Because let's face it, anyone dealing with those K-Tails at mid/close range needs all the grappling appendages they can use.
-Speaking of advanced Rush-energy manipulation....projectile/beam-stopping conformal fields, hyper-focused (i.e. millimeter-wide) armor/energy shield-piercing bolts, and the obligatory beam sword(s)? A groan-inducing "infinite possibilities" pun leaps to mind.
-So in this universe, Team Go-err, "Go Forward"-was deliberately engineered/enhanced, as opposed to the originals' accidental mutations? Nifty ("Harder, better, faster, stronger...").
-That tidbit about Shego *herself* serving as the Ifrit's "reactor" confirms my vague suspicions about the "bio-EX" designation...and considering this beast's upper performance limits seem to be at least partially determined by its mistress...shudder.

It’s always fun to answer questions.
-Actually those strands are connection and sensor cables, just combined together whenever not in use. There *are* however backup boosters on the shoulder blades beneath those.
-They’re similar yes, but Shego’s can extend outwards on cables and act as anchors too when added stability is required during excessively shaky sitchs.
-The colored picture of Ifrit that Verin worked up shows a good example of what you’re asking.
-Oh certainly. Rush-energy is incredibly versatile. A weird mix of Metatron from Zone of the Enders, GN Particles from Gundam 00, and some subtle mixing of the Degeneracy Reactors from Gunbuster for added flavor. However, only the Fox and Ifrit are able to use it for anything other than a power source. More so the Ifirt.
-Exactly. Great guess. The “Go Forward” project was developed by GEE (Galactic Evil Empire) for the purpose of creating super soldiers by mixing up Drakken’s robotics engineering and Amy’s genetics. All of Team Go were the prototypes developed before the project was scrapped.
-Pretty much, and another good guess from the different reactor designation. Ifrit and Shego are essentially one being with two bodies.
That help? ^_^

Regarding the question of balance....I'd say that between (a) this beast's lighter-than-light construction, (b) the probability that a fair number of this series' settings involve minimal to zero gravity, and (c) previously-noted balancing elements (which might include back-mounted engine pods & support for the Q-cannons), the Ifrit is likely to stay on her feet....although the bases of said feet *do* seem rather compact. I'd advise enlarging 'em by about a third, provided that didn't spoil the "satanic hooves" angle you were clearly aiming for.
Moving on to the upper body...while I'm almost certain this is an optical illusion c/o those thick forearm-gauntlets and the left arm's position, the joint at that elbow appears a tad delicate. Then again, given that hypothetical soft spot's proximity to the shoulder-guard blades and Talons of Burninatory Doom(TM), anyone opting to exploit it had better be a nightmarish sniper or close-combat wizard (gee, who's gonna fill that spot?).
On to this demon's unmitigated pluses:
-the name. As with Agni, a spiffy-sounding Eastern (albeit Middle as opposed to Far) moniker doesn't hurt one bit.
-how well those deployed Q-cannons 'mesh' with this suit's powerful upper body. Their diagonal placement just works from a stylistic perspective.
-that helm. That sleek, bizarrely effeminate helm. I swear you actually worked in Shego's trademark forelock, and the combination of "horns" with scanner grids (or are those vents?) is damned striking.
-the midsection's trim, humanoid waist nicely complements this design's intricately non-humanoid lower torso...gotta love that Bubblegum flavor.
-those fiendish talons, shoulder-blades & tail-scythes. Why do I get the feeling not a single one of these elegant pointy devices is there for mere decoration?
I'll have some further notes/queries on this one soon...in the meantime, good luck in '09 and good friggin' riddance to '08.

Yeah, a Happy New Year to you too, and good riddance to bad rubbish.
I’m happy to hear you like Sheeg’s sweet new ride. It was such a pain to come up with!
-The balance issue you bring up is pretty well explained by your own intuitive reasoning, as usual. And yes, the armor is uniformly effective overall. I’m just lousy at Giant Robot poses.
-I guess I was just on a Eastern mythologies kick with those names. I didn’t even realize at the time.
-Those objects on either side of Ifrit’s head aren’t actually Quantum Canons. They’re just *huge* thrusters. *But* they can be used to amass Shego’s R-Drive energy for really powerful bursts. So the science is similar, but the Fox’s cannons are brand new technology.
-Her helm was really fun, and yes, the panels along the side are sensors. I totally ripped off Sword from Tekkaman Blade (Teknoman for the 1990s crowd.)
-And actually, those blades along her shoulder serve a purpose not unlike the Fox’s K-Tails. Similar to Slash Harkens from Code Geass.
Now some geeky notes (you knew this was coming. )
-Her main armament though is her ability to vent and shape high-output Rush energy. The Ifrit is powered by, amplifies, and manipulates Shego's own internal Bio Rush Drive. It does so by plugging directly into key ports implanted throughout her body. She doesn't even move inside Ifrit. It’s like Ifrit becomes her body, and Shego becomes its heart.
-All-Engagement Scanners are specialized sensory hubs unique to the Ifrit that allow it to see past it's own sensory interference field. The energy it produces screws with sensors like the GN particles from Gundams from 00. Because of the AE Scanners though, the Fox's Zero Scanners stealth effects are negated.
-The Ifrit was never mass-produced, just customized so far beyond its original specs that it no longer resembles the original schematics in the least.
Hope those help. You mentioned further notes/queries? ^_^

Ooooo... rather demonic looking, and quite fitting for Shego I think

Demonic WAS the idea. ^_^ But remember, a mech is just an oversized paperweight without the pilot.
Ifrit make look scary, but it's Shego that makes it terrifying.

Alex: Did you miss the fact that this is NOT supposed to be a realistic fic? Because it isn't.

Isn't there TOO much weith in the front side? How can he stay standing with such thin legs and in such position?

Stylistic design seemed more pressing than physical practicality for what I was trying to achieve. ^_^
But the Ifrit IS a very light weight mech, so the upper body isn't much of an issue. The extra leg joint and tail serve to give the Ifrit increased balance as well.
