Description
Just in case anyone actually wants to build it.First off, I used mdf for the corners, but after all the sanding of it, the chemicals in it give you a hangover the next day, so I can't really suggest it, there is another product called trupan, which is about the same in texture, but lacks the awful chemicals, but i have no idea where to get it.

Amazing job (especially with the final product too!) technical drawings make a great how to. Just out of curiosity did you make a 3D assembly model before these too?

The whole thing was modeled as component parts in an assembly, which was then used to create all the drawings for the whole thing.

This is epically in depth, super impressed, and way more detailed than I expected after clicking the link!
Sort of reminds me of an Ikea brochure

If I was going to do a drawing for my own reference I might as well get everything I thought would be useful! I think I put more effort into this than the ones I do for my real job. Though I did miss what would have been a super useful dimension to have which lead to the major mistake I made on the finished cube.

Yeah, you're right, freehanding something super complex is never a good idea, that's for sure
Do you create/design similar things for work?

Most things I design for work are giant pieces of welded sheet metal. So this was a bit easier to design than most of those, but then I had to build it myself.

Giant pieces of metal for... buildings? Vehicles? Equipment? That's very interesting!
And it's always different when you have to finish it yourself, as opposed to sending it off to somebody
Haha take care, sir!

My boyfriend is an engineer and I'm going to shove this in his hands and let him make me one!
