But why is it a magic wand, the cape I can understand. But surely no pony in all of Equestria has ever used a magic wand, they have the magical horn sticking out of their heads.
Though now that I say that I think I need to go watch the Snips and Snails magic act in "The Show Stoppers" again just to check.

I guess the wand is a symbol for stage magic, poor Trixie, forever ridiculed by the fans. I do hope she comes back for another appearance though, though I don't know if I want her being even more outrageous, or conciliatory and apologetic.
Who am I kidding I want Trixie to be even more over the top after she figures out how to actually defeat an Ursa Major!
