There's something good in this character. He looks like he's spellcasting, he's truly spelling. Most of the artworks show magicians casting, without even open their mouth.
Now, I can understand mages casting spells without scrolls, because they can learn simple spells. But hey, spells are so called for a reason.

Love your characters... this one has a great use of color and motion. I like the timeless look of the face (he's not too old, not too young) and the addition of the armor. I would commission this look for the game I've started drafting, should I get to that point.
