Description
I wanted to create a sense of immersion in the dark and mysterious forest...I hope I have reached this.

You achieved what you wanted - very nicely done, indeed.
I particularity like that still greenish and yellow and also bright tones are in the photo, and not everything is black in blue. The milestone and the tree on the right side in front make the photo additionally interesting. The tree brakes the continuity of the many small trees (could be a bit boring otherwise) and the milestone is like a sign of live, while ahead seems to lie only frightening encounters.
One idea came to my mind, maybe you can try it out and maybe it will work: a slight blur towards the deeper parts of the forest could increase the unknown way ahead and hence could amplify the shivering feeling(?).

Thank you for the critique!
Unfortunately, the RAW file is lost, so I can only download this work and try to make it something that you said. When I uploaded this photo, I did not have enough experience in ligntroom and photoshop.
Thanks for the advice. I'll try to do something with this work.

To check out if the blur would help, the JPG is sufficient, don't worry.
(Tell me, if you need some help in PS - but it is quite easy with adding a radial gradient as layer mask and using lens blur filter.)

Great job. It reminds me a little of Middle Earth's Mirkwood forest. Although in this case some light is getting through. The trees look like new growth forest suggesting that the land was reverting to forest. There may have been fields on either side of the road but now they are thickly overgrown.
This sense of abandonment gives the scene an eerie aspect to it. There could be ghosts or witches up ahead. The marker in the lower right looks like it could be a mile marker. That suggests that the road was fairly important once.
I like the way the sunlight glistens on the leaves at the top. I've walked through woods on abandoned roads so the scene is familiar to me.
