To be honest, the blue ruins it, especially because it's transparent, bright, and a lighter shading. It's not meant for a dark "madness returns" look.

I'd like to know what you did, though, from the original. Did you smudge or liquefy?

It has a nice focus on the hair, top version, because it's not too blurred on the right, but it's also not sharpened.
