Vasilisa has always felt a closeness to the ocean. The sound of waves hitting the rocks underneath her favourite spot sooth her with their familiarity and their endless repetition. How long has she sat there, listening to those waves! Sometimes she dives down into them, in a movement that feels like an echo of the life long lost to her, but never has she ventured into the endless deep beyond. It never felt like her place. But today the ocean calls to her. Three lost objects are gathered on a rock, gathered as if put there on purpose. One belongs to the shore, one belongs to the shallows, but the third belongs to the depths that always felt too far, and it is this piece of rock that speaks to her the loudest. Inviting, asking, no, urging her to bring it back to where it belongs. She cannot refuse. The ocean calls to her.

First part of the Ebb and Flow event! I haven't used my gouache for ages, and never for an environment, but I've been meaning to practice with them and this felt like a good opportunity. I'm happy with the result! I only made some digital edits to add Vasilisa's aurora elemental and to add a tiny bit of contrast to the objects.
