The reason why this has TV Thomas proportions is because the same mould was previously used for other versions of him besides the repainted E2. One was electric like the normal one, two others were clockwork and a fourth one was battery powered (pushed by Annie) and ran on plastic track. Exactly like the Bachmann Junior range.
