Yes, Virginia...diesels do get scrapped! The Class 47 in the background is Bob; Bob was a diesel locomotive, but then he became scrapped and is awaiting his fate...

Could parts of him be re-used to make a new steam locomotive of the 21st Century...or will be melted down and made into cheap crappy little Japanese sports cars? I would sing 'Swing Low Sweet Chariot', but I'm not going to as the song is copyrighted along with other songs (Gangham Style, Polka Face, Road to Hell, Jim'll Fix It, the theme tune to Postman Pat, Tomorrow Belongs to Me, Land of Hope and Glory, Happy Birthday, etc.).
