Description This Type 14 Nambu pistol that was among a display of WW2 era Imperial Japanese Army items in a musuem at Dover Castle.

The pistol in your photo is actually an early Type 'A' Nambu sometimes referred to as the 'Papa Nambu'. The Type 14 came years later. The Type 14 has an oversized trigger loop, does not have a grip release under the trigger and the charging knob is round as with this Type 'A' shown in your photo, the charging handle is flat with 2 knurled wings. These Type 'A' Nambus were produced from 1903 - 1926. I included a pic of my own personal Type 14 (left) along with my Type 94 Nambu (right) both produced during WW2.
