I get the feeling they stuck it on a Sherman.
BYW, have you seen Tiger 131, or gotten photos of it?

Could this have been a prop from the film FURY? I know in addition to a real tiger 1 they used a mock up on a chassis just like this and the proper road wheels and tracks were added later with CGI. The reason they did this was the had possession of the real tiger for only 24 hours which was not long enough to film the tank battle.

This would be good if they had put it where you cant see the bottom like a dugout but this is just odd?

Could have been a tank for a ground emplacement. It doesn't look like its necessarily retrofitted onto a PzIII chassis or anything, just that the chassis itself is a custom made one that's small as all get out.
The way a ground emplacement would work is that making the chassis small would conserve manpower digging holes and allow the top of the tank to rest itself on the ground by rolling it's small chassis into a hole, effectively creating a Panther ground emplacement. The theory is supported by the flanged out armor.
All in all, it wouldn't be very fast-moving and not turning at granny speed would tip it onto it's side, so could have just been a dumbass restorer too.

Well here's what I think on that. The Germans were losing the war.And they were desperate to get any tanks out in the field, but a lot of them were all beat to hell so they had to improvise.

Sounds legit, but their next concern is fuel

So true,So true.I agre with you there and that was another reason they needed to improvise,The germans needed tanks on the road but had to conserve fuel, but this tank would have not had a good center of gravity. Not to mention the weight ratio.

It's surprising it can handle the weight of the Tiger tank's body

I think it's just the outer bodywork, sitting on top of another vehicle because there was no better way of transporting it. Funny sight though!
