But it is without a doubt an adult Cooper's Hawk (Accipiter cooperii), I would even vote for a female (even though I am not sure of that last information).

awesome picture, this is a coopers hawk though.... slight chance it's a sharp shinned, but I'm pretty confident it it's a coopers because of the less dense banding on the chest, and the tail. the red eyes are the biggest give away.
