Timothy, at the age of 8, is the youngest member of the Hermes Postal Service(HPS) which is composed mainly of angels, cherubim, and other winged creatures of the sort.
Though he has a perfect built-in sense of direction, he is a novice at flying and is still in training...to get his "flying license"(jk, license not required). He also has the disadvantage of tiny tiny tiny tiny wings. In fact, they are so dwarfed and under-grown that he has to wear special winged shoes in order to keep airborne for longer periods of time.
The headphones don't help much. They just increase Timothy's rates of crash landings. xD

The thing in the corner is Avien, the flying panda-penguin plushie that has an odd obsession with collecting stamps, which is why it follows Timothy.
