My latest big painting project, a snail flower pot. I do plan on varnishing it and putting a plant inside, but I posted it without these things so you can see all the details.

Although the pot is small enough to fit in my hand it took me a whole year to finish. This is mostly because I wanted to post it during springtime, but that came and gone and so I waited a whole year to work on it again. But I knew I had to finish it for good this year, so I went on overdrive to get it done before summer.

I chose to paint only flowers you can see in the spring. Each side of the pot is like a whole different painting, so I will post each separately. On the left of this side you can see a variety of tulips, followed in the middle by pretty crocus, and on the right daffodils in 2 different colors. In the middle is a Monarch butterfly, and around the composition you can find Dandelion fluff.

The snail was purchased as a blank canvas for painting. This is what I would assume they wanted to be displayed as the front, because it has a textured spiral like a snail shell, but not on the other side. It was very difficult to paint in this spiral because of the texture but I think I did ok. This is painted in acrylic.
