Description
Two years later, I drop in with an app update.
Name: Ingo
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Height: 5'7"
Race: Sheikah
Current Residence: Ikana Valley
Wallet: 11,675 Rupees
Weapon: Guardian Naginata
Details
Personality:
- Ingo is a peculiar, incredibly honest, overconfident, easily distracted, and quick to intrigue young man. He spends a lot of time thinking about anything that catches his interest. He doesn't notice when his mind wanders off since the questions that come to mind are too curious to ignore. He can spend hours just wondering about the littlest things that no one would ponder over, like the textures of a tree and how nature knows to curve it at that exact spot or make its bark chip here and split there.
- He craves exploration and dangerous situations because he doesn't get to go on any cool Sheikah missions at home like the rest of his clan in Ikana. They don't believe he's ready to take on life-threatening missions yet, so they have him deliver important codecs to waiting allies across Termina. When not completing a delivery, he's out doing quests to earn rupees, treasure hunting for interesting trinkets, or floating himself to relaxation at the Great Bay.
- When in a fight, he plans his approach carefully. He's learned to asses the situation before acting because there's been too many instances where he's rushed in and almost ended up dead. He prefers to distance himself and study the opponent and play defensively before attacking. Despite his care, he's an overconfident fighter and it can get to his head if it's going his way and might end in a misstep or miscalculation.
- Ingo spends hours combing knots out of his hair even if it means it'll get tangled just the same on the next day. He's very proud of his hair and refuses to cut it. He's had his hair caught by opponents before so he wraps it at the first sign of danger.
- He has a high self-esteem value of himself and is optimistic enough to not be bothered with most misfortunes that may befall him. Most of his optimism comes from his fairies, who he considers a family. Though he's lived with his Ikana clan for as far back as he could remember, he doesn't feel connected to any of them there.
- Ingo tends to exaggerate when explaining or reenacting a story. He enjoys acting, and thinks he's pretty good at it. Though it may get too dramatic, he won't stop till it's absolutely obnoxious. Though if the situation needs him to be serious, he'll drop the jokes and act accordingly.
- Though he is happy to help anyone in need, he'll only do it as long as he can get something in return; like completing quests, for example. This is usually the case unless it's something dire like where a life is in danger.
- He's not one to stay quiet, typically. When asked a question, he'll respond. It may not be the best answer, but it'll be an answer.
History
Life in Ikana Valley is normal for him. Growing up surrounded by the dead isn't something he'd call weird. Weird is a place without walking corpses every hour of the day. As a child, Ingo stayed up at night and wait till there was a chance for him to sneak from the sacred ground of their small tribe. They lived on a land in the valley where the dead have not set foot in ages. Whether it be that their protection signs work or the Garo aren't interested in that spot, they don't really care. Ingo would leave armed with his spear and dagger and travel to fight roaming Garo as practice using the techniques he'd learn from the clan's warriors.
Unbeknownst to him, most of them knew he snuck off so they would take turns as a night watch to follow. Even though he was good at defending himself, he was still sloppy in hand-to-feet coordination. This was his greatest flaw and was what his sparring partners took advantage of. He grew tired and frustrated of losing to them, so he resorted to taking up busy chores and sleeping during the day to practice fighting reanimated corpses at night. The Sheikah in charge of him watched as he got better in parrying thanks to his (annoyingly) admireable persistence. As he improved and got older, Ingo practiced handling different weapons, but ultimately decided to keep the Naginata as his main weapon.
In his late-teens, Ingo eagerly followed his cheif, begging for a chance to go on a mission with them. He thought it was his time to prove his strength to them, to finally put his years of training to work together to do something great like defeating a monster terrorizing a whole town, or rescue an entrusted carrier from a mountain surrounded by stalfos. The Ikana tribe received news from extended clans in Hyrule and Termina, news that alert them of disasters or requests. To Ingo's deep disappointment, they ended up giving him what is essentially the role of a mailman. His first mission was an escort mission. Most details were disclosed and the specifics were to protect a business traveler from Clock Town all the way to Snowhead for a secret meeting. Let down, but still willing, Ingo took off.
For such a simple mission, it was very fun for the sake of exploring Termina. On his way back to Ikana, he was gifted an invitation that made his life all the more exciting.
Fairies
Name: Vahni, fire fairy
Info:
- Vahni is a hothead who clashes with her partner a lot. Upsetting her doesn't take much and making her content is about as hard as regaining a friend's lost trust. Because Ingo barely has a thought-to-speech filter, it was painstakingly difficult for the two to connect. Now, Vahni understands him and knows his little quirks which makes it easier to tell when he's being sarcastic or genuinely stupid. Overtime, she's gained a soft spot for him. Vahni points out Ingo's mistakes often in hopes that he'll correct them. She's there to keep him in track if he gets distracted. Ingo knows what her intentions are, but it constantly feels like she's nagging at him.
- It's rare for her to forget things, which makes arguing against her incredibly difficult.
- Of the three, she's the voice of caution and order.
Name: Vesi, water fairy
Info:
- Vesi is a rational thinker who perfers to give advice to Ingo rather than nag him like Vahni. He and Ingo got along easily at the first time meeting. He knows Ingo only got him because he needs someone to balance Vahni. Ingo will never admit it because he doesn't want to make Vesi feel like a tool rather than a partner. Though that's how it started, they all grew into a team because Vesi beings them together. He wants to see Ingo succeed just as much as Vahni.
- Vesi whines more than he's proud of when he's stressed.
- Of the three, he's the voice of reason and delicacy.
Notes
- In Ikana, it's very hot at day and very cold at night. To knock those issues, Ingo wears loose fitting clothes with furs. Depending on the temperature wherever he's traveling, he'll use the long coat as a blanket or pillow. Underneath is the swimsuit he uses when he goes to take a swim at the Bay or in the Water Temple.
- His upper right arm has deep teeth bites marks from a White Wolfos encounter gone wrong.
- The tattoos on his face are permanent.
- Thanks to having Vahni and Vesi, they can create a screen of steam if there's a need for a quick escape.

Ah, I'm very glad to hear that. I enjoy writing eccentric characters and when someone enjoys them, it gives me all the more reason to continue.
