FOR REALS! I straight-up play Dungeons and Dragons. This is how my character Max (a geeky son of a blacksmith turned "knight") met his One True Love, Aranea (an evil spider demon disguised as a hawt sorcerer). Many hilarious hijinx followed.
That is TOTALLY how we described Aranea, sexy clothes and pink sexy magic and everything! (years ago, but still, THE SAME THING).

Well, yes, Alan is usually a nice person and he has a strong sense for justice.
But he can get hurt and stressed eaisily, and pain is something he keeps for himself. But when he's not able to handle it anymore, the breakdown comes, and it's violent, even fatal for him.
So, turning him evil here, it's more like the "my pain is taking over me, and it's shallowing me all" thing. Omg, I went so serious LOL

That's what I noticed about Alan through your comics. The thing about his father and such seemed to damage him a bit.
When I think about it a lot of villains are more "weak" people, with a kinda sad background story.
