You look like your character is taking stock of the "uniform" that has just been put on. Is the photograph on the bedside table an accident or did you intend for it to have some significance?

There is significance, I'm glad you caught it.

Thanks... but what does it signify?

Thank you very much. I think this series came out really well because I was allowed complete control over the shoot and therefore had some sort of personal attachment to it. I'm glad you are liking it.

wow, you said some thing here that is really interesting to me as an artist that works with models.... i have long said that and artist working with a model, (and i dare say a photographer) have a much better chance of a succussful project if it is viewed by both parties as a collaboration of creative forces. rather than one (typically the artist), being demanding and inflexible.

whenever i work with a model on a specific project there is always a discussion of the goals of the project or painting... and once the model is on track and we are thinking along the same lines, she or he can take my initial idea and expand on it .... and when that happens, inevitiably the end result is better than i could have imagined it.

so when you say that you like it because you have a personal attachment to it that means a lot to me.

thanks

oh and thanks for the fave and the add to your list of friends.. i appreciate that.

I honestly thought I had you on my friends list, but I guess I didn't. Whoops! I really love your paintings.

And I have to definitly agree with you on that. The photographer came to me with a concept he had for a book called "The Morning After" and he wanted me to come up with a character and a story about the morning after something that happened to the character the night before. I automatically knew that I wanted to do something extremely emotional and to try and push the boundaries a little bit by making the viewer really *feel* sorry for this stripper that some people who normally view as a low life and not worth their time or pity. So, it definitly had a personal connection to me, but I couldn't have made it work without the photographer who I talked with for a long time about the series. Good communication and getting on the same l path as your model is most definitly something that makes the images in the end..speak for themselves.

In fact, the shoot was so emotional for both of us I was actually crying in some of the images and Brian said that he will never be able to look at a stripper in the same way again. So, at the very least I've changed one person's point of view which is all I ever wanted.

joy,
that means a lot to hear you say you love my paintings. just so you know if you have not figured it out yet, i expect to do some paintings featuring you here in the nearish future.

thank you for telling me that story... it is really cool that you were allowed so much freedom and latitude.

on a personal level, i am touched by the story that you told here in those pictures. i find it really sad how judgemental people are. just because someone does some thing that some people consider to be less than upstanding does not make them any less human.. and that drives me nuts. i applaud you for doing what you did.

i believe you that you were actually crying during that session, i can tell it was very emotional... very powerful. i am glad you are so pleased with those images..

and who knows perhaps some day you and i can work together on a specific painting or series of paintings. i think that would be awesome.

thanks again for the add.
