Description Geno, a star being who possessed a puppet to fight the forces of evil in Super Mario RPG for Super Nintendo in 1996. Over the years he maintained a large fan-base who would eventually vote him as the most wanted character for Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii aside from Sonic. When he wasn't allowed in the game, he blew up Japan in a blast of fury (see these two for explanation [warning contains some strong language]: [link] and [link] ) (I didn't make nor post those vids by the way). Most misunderstand, it isn't Nintendo's fault he wasn't in the game. It was his actual owners Square-Enix who prevented his inclusion in the game. I hope Nintendo buys his character rights "back", because Square has yet to put him in a game without Nintendo (something I hope never happens). Here is my picture of Geno after giving him some new powers and abilities such as a gatling gun hand transformation to combine with his machine gun cannon on his right arm, and a cluster missile launcher on his left arm as well as the ability to charge up his attacks on his left arm with his left hand then channel it to his right arm to be unleashed. He's gonna need a lot of firepower to fight for his freedom in Square-Enix's domain. I combined hand-drawn and digital-drawing techniques to get him his current look. Hope you like it (all rights to the character Geno belong to Square-Enix) (But I hope that changes). GENO FOR NINTENDO! SHOW YOUR SUPPORT! Comment and/or FAV! SPREAD THE WORD but most of all... ENJOY!!!

Geno escaped square enix!!! he is now with alphadream (maybe nintendo) and they are planning to bring him back m.ign.com/articles/2013/08/13/… IGN interviewed a couple of Alphadream execs who helped make Mario & Luigi: Dream Team who elaborated on the proper way to go about giving Geno and Mallow minor roles in future RPG games.

Sweet! Although, I'm not sure it'd work with just a petition though unless we're talking millions of signatures, but still, thet gets me thinking, have you heard of "Kickstarter"? Perhaps someone should set up a kickstarter to buy the rights of Geno for Nintendo.

In that sense, we'd contact Nintendo and they would make a sum and say if we raised so much, they would buy Geno's rights back with that money. Combined with a petition to get Nintendo's attention on the matter.

heck yeah and we could work together via feedback and get every geno fan alerted on every geno fan club and tell them the battle stratagy on a new club called bring geno back to release geno (and mallow) From square enix into the nintendo family. and not letting him on ssbb4 was the last straw for me

It'd be super cool to have Geno for Nintendo.

Β

But don't you think it'd be kind of awkward if they bought the rights to Geno and not Mallow?

My guess is that it would be a package deal. They would get Geno, but they'd also say "While we're at it, throw in Mallow too."

IT'S SO FUCKIN' UNFAIR! THEY STOLE THE RIGHTS AND THESE OWNERSHIP TO NINTENDO, AND WORST IF THEY DIDN'T CREATED GENO OR ANOTHER CHARACTER OF MARIO RPG (Miyamoto did it really...). Or say me, When did you see Geno in any game of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Mana, Star Ocean, Tomb Raider (reboot), or any other game created by this company (including the franchises formerly of Eidos and Taito)? NEVER! AND IT'S UNFAIR THAT THESE RATS DON'T LET GENO APPEAR (it's rumoured that Geno will appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but he was cut off by these "copyright" of these assholes...)...!

Only I hope don't see Geno in a game of the Square-Enix franchises exclusive only for Sony (Play Station) or Microsoft (XBox), or worst: in Play Station All-Stars Battle...

Altought recently I read that AlphaDream is interested in reviving him and his good friend Mallow...

I really really wish he appears in Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS. He was the second-most requested character for Brawl (the first one being Sonic), so It would be kind of unfair to see him excluded again.

PLEASE SQUARE! PLEASE NINTENDO!

Same here, there's all sorts of rumors going around about the next Smash Bros, regarding characters from other companies (doors that had been opened when they included Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake in Brawl). One particular rumor says that Sakurai really wants to do more with this new Smash Bros than just adding in a handful of new characters to the roster, so that could mean he (and the developers) might be even pickier this time around about who makes the cut or not, and the way I see it, if Geno came in 2nd place for Brawl and Sonic WAS added (and chances are will remain a part of it), that means Geno holds the top requested spot so his chances are looking good!

He is character from Mario's universe, so he'd likely be left as is. (Or at least be no more "kidified" than the rest of Mario's friends, if that's more or less is our individual views.) One thing they probably would alter is his attire to the degree of adding pants or something. Not much else though since he was a pretty cool character to begin with.

i do have one question for nintendo, how many games are they gonna make for teenage-based groups?
last one i remember was SMRPG and i haven't seen one since.
well LoZ games are kinda dark at times so i guess they count...but i don't play those.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Fiercedeity1770 In reply to Kidincred [2013-02-20 20:34:23 +0000 UTC]

Well, I'm not Nintendo so I can't quite answer that question apart from giving my perspective.
Nintendo has a unique fan-base/relationship with its customers. Nintendo owns numerous franchises that have lasted for decades, which is something that neither Microsoft (Xbox) nor Sony (Playstation) have. People grew up playing Mario games back in the arcade days and then continued following Mario as well as many of Nintendo's other unique franchises on the home consoles as they grew up and the consoles evolved. from one generation of console to the next, again only Nintendo has survived on its grand scale since the start of home gaming industry began. As such, Nintendo doesnt need to gear it's games to any target audience (don't get me wrong there is some of that, but not half as much as Microsoft and Sony). Nintendo's fans followed their favorite franchises from child to adult and then passed that on to their children while still keeping to the series, if for nothing more than nostalgia. (Why do you think Nintendo started up the Virtual Console idea of allowing people to download all the old-school classics? It was for the nostalgia.) So no I don't think they make specifically teen, nor child, nor adult oriented games on the same scale as their competitors , but instead trying at least in some way in each game to appeal to a wider amount of audiences young and old.
As for LoZ games being dark, I'm going to guess that you're referring to Majora's Mask? The Zelda series itself could be considered Nintendo's darkest long-lasting franchise ever, but it is also know for some of Nintendo's as well as video gaming in general's all-time best/most revolutionary games.

i see your point in what you say but these...well 1st 2nd and 4th...aren't target-based.

(Warning: If anything anything I am about to say sounds insulting toward you or offensive in any way, please not that it isn't intentional.)

There's one major difference between Sony's franchises you just listed and Nintendo's franchises--- AGE!!!!! Most of those you listed are from recent years and maybe one or two are at best 10 years old, even then, that's less than half as old as most of Nintendo's franchises. So comparing them is not really possible in terms of lasting the test of time. Sony's oldest game franchises that come to my mind are Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, neither of which are as popular these days as they were 10 years ago. (Seriously, when was the last time you heard about a Crash Bandicoot game coming out?) The rest are mostly either first-person shooters or franchises from 3rd-party companies versus sony or microsoft themselves. Which is understandable since Sony and Microsoft have more products to bring them income like computers, dvd/blue ray players, and so on, so they focus their money on that and leave game creation to the 3rd party companies. Hence why their consoles have superior graphics, they focus on hardware (consoles) not software (games). Nintendo is the other way around.

Crash Bandicoot game coming out...i think 1-2 years ago ._.
i forgot about Spyro.
Sony used to work with Nintendo so when they broke apart they had to start off, most games of which were not very popular. but ps2 came out and that's when they really "boomed". i mean...ps2's are still sold to this day...
how often do you see nintendo 64's on the shelves compared to ps2's?
i have honestly never seen a 64 out on shelves and i've seen ps2's most of my life. i no longer see ps2's in stores very often but i still do see ps2 controllers and many games.
i did not take offense to anything you said because i am quite (unlike most sony fans) optimistic and please do not take offense from anything i say.
and honestly,to argue against sony having better hardware, sure it's less likely to break but the graphics on the wii u are nearly as good as the ps3 (some reason ps4's are gonna come out >.> and they still make money off of ps2's. cheapskates >.>)

Fiercedeity1770 In reply to Kidincred [2013-02-21 17:51:29 +0000 UTC]

I wasn't offended, and I hope you aren't by what I'm about to say either.

You're comparing the N64 to the PS2, both a compliment and an insult to the consoles at the same time. The PS2 and N64 are from separate generations of game consoles with the N64 being from the older generation, so it's natural that one would still see remnants of the PS2 generation on shelves of not specifically video game stores (Target, Walmart, etc.).
As I recall, the home gaming generations are (basically) counted as follows:
Zero Generation- Foundation consoles such as the Atari, Commodore, and Nintendo's Virtual Boy
1st Generation- the NES for Nintendo, the original Sega Master System
2nd Generation- the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis
3rd Generation- Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, and Playstation 1
4th Generation- Nintendo GameCube, Playstation 2, XBOX
5th Generation- Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, XBOX 360
6th Generation- Nintendo Wii U... Sony and Microsoft haven't released their newest consoles yet, but Sony has annonced the PS4.

As for seeing consoles and games being sold "to this day", of course you wouldn't expect to see the older generations of games in stores very often unless you find a store that centers around video games, and not in the way Gamestop and EB do, but stores like Play-N-Trade and gaming collector shops like that, where all generations of game can be found common. I live near a Play-N-Trade and I stop by now and then to look for N64 games and have collected many over the last few years thanks to said store. (Still looking for Conker's Bad Fur Day though.) A few monthes ago, I had gone by and I noticed they had like 8 brand new/unopened N64 controllers on sale and I considered buying a few for 15 bucks a piece, but I didn't (stupid move on my part) and when I went back a few weeks later, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WAS ALREADY GONE!!!!!! (XD the bittersweet irony). Back to a point, the reason why you won't see old generation consoles and games on shelves apart from where I mention is because with the creation of websites like Ebay best place to look for, the them is online. Seriously, look up games like Conker's Bad Fur Day for the N64, Perfect Dark, and other games like that from the N64 days and see how much they sell for these days after all those years.

Lastly, I never said Sony and Microsoft's consoles were less likely to break than Nintendo's. On the contrary, Sony and Microsoft's consoles have been known to break more often than Nintendo's. I know people who bought XBOXs and 360s then less than 48hours later broke them. Course this was back when the consoles first came out which is always the worst time to buy any console since that's the period where the manufacturers look for bugs in their consoles which they fix overtime taking a year or so to get most of the bigger bugs out. As for Nintendo's consoles, my N64 still works perfectly to this day and it's almost 15 years old, that should tell you all you need about that. But regarding what I had said about Microsoft and Sony's consoles being superior to Nintendo's, that was from a graphics standpoint. And sure the Wii U could be as good as the PS3 in terms of graphics, but then... The PS4 is about to come out supposedly, so that might not be the case for long. Oh and one other thing, the PS3 neglected to include backwards compatibility to the PS2 which was a poor decision in my opinion. (Mind you Nintendo didn't include GameCube compatibility in the wii u , but then that console was 2 generations old so it's understandable to a degree. and even then, there are rumors about virtual console gamecube titles)

Fiercedeity1770 In reply to Kidincred [2013-02-22 17:42:18 +0000 UTC]

The N64 was a revolutionary console. It brought us many innovations in video games that set the foundations of modern gaming. Such as, Goldeneye 64 setting the stage for the first-person shooter genre (especially its multiplayer), Super Mario 64 being the first and certainly not the last game to successfully bring a 2D iconic franchise/series into 3D with great success, the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask introduced the first z-lock on targeting system to be used in video games, as well as setting the bar for the adventure games genre (not to mention, OOT is widely considered by many to be the greatest game of all time). There were several other franchises that are said to have had their best games produced for the N64, such as Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Mario Party (1, 2, & 3 though 2 is my personal favorite), Star Fox 64, etc.
(Sorry about that, I just like talking about the N64, it brings back memories… ^^ )

By the way, what did you mean when you said "N64 (being) closer than Wii"? Closer to what? and how?
