Mods Featured: SA-Sonic , Goal Ring

Aside from ROBLOX, Sonic Robo Blast 2 is probably the game I've spent the most time on.

There's something intensely compelling about the way it adapts the Classic Sonic formula to 3D, and with its wide mix of addons featuring new characters, levels, and mechanics, there's a little something here for everyone.

Speaking of which, an Adventure-era Sonic addon was released not too long ago, and that got me a little curious. There's an SA1-styled HUD in the addons, but no one's made one for SA2 yet. Which is a crime, considering how good that game is. So, out of boredom, I decided to whip a little mock-up to see how it might look.

I think a mod like this should feature a somewhat similar scoring system to SA2 in stages (10 points per Rings; combo chains; etc.), tracking the points you've earned in that current stage. I'd like each vanilla act to have its own independent rank requirements, and then maybe all other levels levels would get a general formula calculated using its Ring and Badnik count—but that might be a little too much to ask for.

I dunno, I just really wanted to get this out of my head. Maybe it'll happen, maybe it never will. I could probably do it myself, but god knows I'm too lazy to learn how.

One thing's for sure, though: play SA-Sonic. And SRB2 in general. They're good, y'all. Real good.
