Commissioned by PrincessJupiter94I'm really excited to share this one. In this alternate ending to my Princess Mario comic, poor Mario is confined to Bowser's Castle and goes months on end without escaping or being rescued. Bowser eventually realizes that his longtime nemesis has disappeared, and releases his prisoner in order to capture the Princess that has eluded him all this time...
I should make clear that this is not the official ending of the Princess Mario comic, but more of an alternate ending if things had gone just a little bit differently for Mario. Because the story is still on-going, I won't go into detail about what changed this time around, but I've really enjoyed reading people's comments trying to piece together the story and make guesses at what will happen next. I also want to publicly thank PrincessJupiter94 for the great script and being willing to work with me to make this fit nicely into the story. This was a lot of fun to work on, and I'd be very excited to take on more commissions that explore different "what-if" scenarios for Princess Mario and her friends.
Lastly, while I said that this is not the official ending to the Princess Mario comic, I do consider it an official alternate ending, and hopefully the first of several.

I intentionally left that vague so the reader can draw their own conclusions from it. People have their own preferences when it comes to mental states in these kind of fictional situations, so by leaving it up to the reader they can kind of impose their own idea of how Mario came to see herself as "Maria".

Without giving too much away, I'd say the Princess Mario comic is a little past halfway done. There are still quite a few pages left, no worries.
